This Small Game Hunter model is a wrap. Elmax steel with a tapered and skeletonized tang. Shallow hollow grind. Hand filed checkered spine for the thumb. Sheepshorn grips over tan G10 liners. Peened copper pins. The sheath is hand tooled Herman Oak leather with 523 stamps measured, laid out, and hammered in by hand. It's fully lined with garment grade elkskin lining and features a drain hole on the back. The welt has been both glued and sewn into place by hand with a saddle stitch using waxed and woven thread. To compliment the copper pins, the belt loop on the sheath was attached with copper rivets and I even included a drain hole in the bottom of the back side of the sheath where you can see the blade tip if you look closely. I enjoyed working on this rustic little skinner. It's going to a local pastor.

Not to steal your post on your beautiful sheep horn knife. If you can find it, non-domestic sheep horn is amazing...tippit

Heck yeah it is! I will definitely be using more soon. Feel free to add to the post Tippit. We are all in this nutty race called life together. ;) I’m more inclined to see other makers and their work as part of a community that I’m humbled to be a small part of rather than competition. There’s room for ALL of us for sure and certain.
I’m pretty much closing down shop for a while though. Hunting season is upon us now. :campfire:

My shop has been closed for nearly a year with my arthritic knee and new knee replacement this past July. I'm just starting to walk normally now. I'll re-start forging when we get back to our SC farm come November. Good luck hunting!
