Shot this buck last night with my Big Five. I knew he was in the area and that if I would get a shot it would be QUICK and CLOSE. At 6:00 pm this buck stood from his bed just 15 yards from my location. I had only enough time to raise the bow and shoot. From the time I saw him to the time he was hit was maybe 5 seconds. The shot was 3 yards. He ran about 50 yards. Tapered Cedar arrow with 190 grain Ribtek blew through both shoulders.

No idea what to do now. The rutcation was supposed to blast off tomorrow.
I've got a basement to refinish. Wait, make that a dozen cedars to build.
I only ever get one deer tag. The weather is so hot. I just know that the nice
5 x 5 that I had seen will be making the rounds if the weather cools off.
Maybe just start planning for next year. This deer really needed another year but I've never been in a better spot in my life. It all came together just as planned.
