...and the process begins. This is my newest offering for the raffle table at the Tenn Classic in the spring of 2023.
Now that this is archery related I thought I'd share it with y'all. If this isn't acceptable, Roy, please delete.

Seems like this is taking forever, what's you think ? LOL..

Got a bit more done over the last few weeks. Glued up the base, started filling out the shooter's body and started posing the scene...

Then I shaped the base and covered it with strips of newspaper. Then started staging the scene. I'm sure this will change some before the finish...

There is a video out there of that actual shot.
-
I cant wait to see what the bow looks like when its finished... Are ya going to do a recurve?
-
Kirk, it will be a Pacific yew American longbow. I've just about got it finished.

Beautiful work Pat.
Love watching your pieces come to life.
-
You not including the guy with the rifle ;)
-
Heck no...he don't need no stinking rifleman. :saywhat:
-
LOL

:archer2:
-
I guess Fred would not have needed the "Dude" if he had plaster running thru his veins
-
The guide(not included) with the gun was Ed Bilderback, the famed Alaskan bear guide. It is this iconic scene I'm trying to capture but other than that it really isn't historically correct.
Years ago, my wife and I went to the Fred Bear Museum and factory in Florida. When you walk in the main entrance there is a mounted polar bear that Fred shot. That thing stood at least 10' tall and was quite omanus even stuffed so I'd say that Fred did have plaster running through his veins. :notworthy:
-
Another sneak peek. Added the beach sand and rocks but need to finish up the beach and attach the driftwood and finish the bear. The shooter is complete but not yet attached...

Nice Pat.
-
Thats really cool! I appreciate the skill and patience that went into creating that mini diorama
-
Thanks Roy and Phil. I enjoy making these and like to add the special touches to them.
-
Coming along nice Pat :clapper:
-
Thanks Mark, you'll have a chance to win it at the Classic. These dioramas usually bring a good bit of money to the Twin Oaks Bowhunters to help support the Tenn. Classic. That's the main reason I do them...and I enjoy the process and sharing the process.

The next time you'll see this is on the raffle table at Twin Oaks' Bowhunters' The Tenn. Classic. Please help to fill this jar with tickets. It all goes to a good cause, supporting the Tennessee Classic(May 5, 6, 7 at Twin Oaks Bowhunters Club).
-
Pat, that's a wonderful piece of work. Whoever wins it will be one lucky person.
-
Awesome job Pat.
-
Nice, you are an artist.
-
Really nice pat
-
Really nice! I like dioramas, they remind me of all the cool museums and natural history exhibitions I have seen.
They draw you into the scene.
-
Thanks guys. I think this is the 6th diorama I've done for The Tenn. Classic raffle table and they usually bring good money for Twin Oaks to help support the Classic. It costs a lot to put on a shoot like the Classic and it hardly cost me anything to spend a week at Twin Oaks.
I already have thoughts for the next one.
-
Nice work with a charitable intention! Good on ya! :clapper:
-
Nice job Pat!!
-
Thanks guys.
