Where are you in Florida? Several of us here hail from the Swamp...
For more traditional wood bows I've always favored The Traditional Bowyers Bible Vol 1 -- you can get it as a free download PDF.

Yes it was culture shock for me. Im hoping to talk her into moving one day. I just cant imagine the kids growing up here.

There are a few good books to be had. Like Ken mentioned, the TBB series covers a lot of bases. Steve Graf has a good book on building ASL's. Don't know of any books related to making recurves or R/D bows?

For wood bows I would second the recommendation for The Traditional Bowyer's Bible, all 4 volumes.

Hunting the Bamboo Backed Bow by Dean Torges, Hunting the Osage Bow, by Dean Torges, The 4 book TBB series and many others.

I am with Pat. Torges has about everything covered on a wood bow that you could ask. Takes a couple readings and a lot of shavings to totally digest everything he says. The Stephen Graff book Buggs mentioned is a good one for ASL's too.
