Title: Bow swap info
Post by: kennym on January 25, 2023, 12:52:39 PM
You know it would be handy to know if you shoot 3 under or split to try to get the bow right for ya...

I'm split...

I don't really have any other likes or dislikes but if you have info we need , lay it on us!! :biglaugh:

Hey Kenny..... Do you honestly believe this makes a difference?   If so... Why?

Not really for me, but some folks may.

I tiller mine even with matching limbs and just move nock point to make em fly. Seems OK...

Someone may have other likes or dislikes that the builder could take note of.

It used to be that a 1/4" strong on the bottom limb was the right tiller for three under I shot three under and I cant see any difference I get good arrow flight with even, 1/8, 1/4', or  1/8 stiff on the top limb . Don't matter !

I was just curious….. there are some who truly believe it makes a difference, and others not so much.     Kirk

I am 3 under. I have been tillering to even.
Ken

PS.  What grip size do the contestants prefer?
Medium for me but a lot of people I shoot with like things on the smaller side.

I’m guessing medium grip size also for me. Got fairly big hands but don’t like a huge grip either.

That's a good question. I've got large hands but prefer a medium, narrower grip similar to Kenny it sounds like.

At the end of the day, I'll be happy with whatever I get and I can only imagine if one of the recipients doesn't like the grip they get, they probably have no fear of breaking out the files and modifying it to their taste if needed. Assuming there is enough meat on the bone.

I have large hands and tend to gravitate toward a width of 1 7/8 on the throat and 1.385 thick on a med grip angle. I shoot split and tiller evenly.

That said for me the swap is an opportunity to exchange ideas, designs and craftsmanship that I may not have had or tried before. I am open to whatever I receive and I am grateful.
