I sure am. I was on a crappie fishing trip about a week ago and came across a large mud flat with a bunch of carp splashing in the shallows. Of course I didn't have my bow with me.   :banghead:

I am  :)

Went out in my kayak for the first bowfishing trip of the year. I landed one and had a lot more shots. Great time. The fish up here aren't spawning quite yet, but I think they will be soon.

Hey jonesy,  I've been out to Lake Sangchris, SE from Spfld, once and got five before it started raining and I broke a nock.  Looking for a calm day to get out again.  The UBI Bowfish and BBQ is on this weekend down at Rend Lake.  Where in IL are you?

With turkey season finally over, I can shift gears and go after the fish.  The carp haven't really started much spawning as of yet, but I expect it any time.  The water is starting to warm up!  All the females we plunked had eggs in them.

Those look like Asian Silver Carp.  Wow!  We don't have those in Oklahoma (and that's probably a good thing).  I made a trip to Illinois two years ago to shoot some of those out of the air.  It was a blast, but I hear they are a real problem.  Congrats on those pigs!

I've been a few times now. Still not spawning, but definitly hanging out in the shallows. I shot 16 carp last night. Here are a few pics. Check out this odd looking one. IT was deformed with the tail twisted exactly 90° so it swam like  a dolphin or mermaid. Weird.

Holy Cow!  Skyler W, now that was an awesome outing. If we get 20# fish here, it's a trophy.  How big was the biggest?

Here in Washington, I missed the first spawn which was a couple weeks ago.  A few days ago, I landed 24 of the 8-12 lb. common carp along with a couple "Mirror" carp (see pic.)

That twisted tail carp is awesome!  I wonder if it got injured when it was very young/developing or something?

I was wondering the same thing or if it was a birth defect. I kind of wish I would have taken it home and froze it, but it's probably been eaten by something by now.

Lon, The biggest one weighed 59 lbs. That Mirror carp is beautiful. We have only ever shot one around here.

Here in Australia we are not allowed to shoot carp with a bow in our rivers and streams it deemed to be spearfishing and illegal and carp are a major pest infesting almost all our rivers and lakes. But you can catch them with rod and line, but you are not allowed to return them to the water, you must kill the fish and bury the remains more than fifty meters away from the waters edge. And I`can drive five minutes from home and see twenty or thirty ten pound carp in a local creek untouchable---crazy heh.
