I'v been saving my pennys for a while and had plans on ordering a PSA X (Kingwood) . But after looking at the Great Plains SR Swift Rio Bravo I think I want that one too ! I can buy the Swift and get it now ( 3 Rivers) or save up another 500 and order the Widow. I'm undecided (and maybe a little impatient) HELP !!!! :banghead:

Buy the Great Plains now and start saving for the BW. Shoot the GP and if you like it keep it. If you don't, sell it to add to your BW "kitty."
See...it's simple and you could end up with 2 more bows without taxing your patience. Might tax your pocket a little, though.

better yet, make sure you shoot both to see which you really like, doesnt mean you cant still buy the great plains like okie said, still its always good to know
-
BWs are amazing....
-
Yep, get that SR Swift in 60" length and 50# @ 28". I know a guy a just a short drive west of you on I-96 that would buy it when you decide to try a Widow. :)

I've owned both....I'd buy the Great Plains SR Swift now! It's an amazing recurve.
I've own the Rio Bravo and the Black Hawk models and IMO, the best recurves built. You'll love the grip.

It would depend on which one I liked shooting the most.I would not buy either one if I had not shot them.Bows are just too personal to buy any of them without having them in my hand first.jmo

you have to have the bow in your hand and shoot it prior to buying and or putting it on order. If the bow feels good and shoots were you look then buy it. Sometimes it is not the most exxpense bow that is the best fit for your style shooting. I know I shot a lot of bows and then shoot a checkmate firebird and it was love at first shot. I ordered the bow with two sets of lims for about the cost of less than the swift and about 1/3 less than the BW....If there is a big shoot coming up in your area of the country with lots of bow makes, I would go and shoot them all to try out...I klnow that were I get into trouble, as my wife says I never found a bow line I did not love at Denton hill. Each year I go and come home with another adder...sometimes just a used bow from the trading or from one of the dealers...

you only live once so treat yourself to a Widow!

i love kingwood, anf i really like my widow. Sold my great plains to get it.
-
Order the Widow! JUST MY 2 CENTS
-
I love the lines of the G.P. Rio Bravo, too.
I would buy it and see how it shoots.I'm thinking of buying one myself.

Flip a coin and let fate decide!

My best advice is DON'T BUY ANYTHING UNLESS YOU TRY IT FIRST.Even then I would only buy used. You will save a lot of money that way.
Now on the other hand,if you have been wanting a Widow a long time you will never be satisfied untill you get one.Even if the G.P. shoots just as good or better you will always wonder if you should have bought the Widow. So I see no alternative except to get them both. :)

Mor money dos.not always mean a better bow.

This is really a tough decision, I have alway's wanted a Widow and I had the oportunity to shot one in Kalamazoo, it shot great for me. But I also love the looks of the SR Swift Rio Bravo, I'v shot a great plains at Kalamazoo but dont remember which one ? I do remember it shot very nice though....

Check the classifieds and buy both :bigsmyl:
-
Yep..check the classifieds. I think there is a swift for sale on there right now. You should still have some money left over to put toward the Widow. :bigsmyl:

If you get the new Great Plains catalog you will have to buy the Swift. I fell in love. If every bowyer put out that nice of a catalog/brochure I'd never have any money.
I had a GP but not the Swift and liked it very much, I would buy it back. I had a PSA and I hated myself for liking it, guess I wanted to be different. Truth is, the PSA will probably my next purchase. :banghead: My only advice is that if you really wanted the PSA first, then go with your gut. You won't ever be truly satisfied until you get it.

i have shot great plains and was not very impressed. they have alot of vibration and will not be near what the widows will do. save your money, you will not regret it.
-
What Bill said!
-
Life's short, shorter for some than others - you can't ever have to many recurves!

I'd call the Widow Workers and take a test drive just to make sure of what you want. Both the Widow and the Great Plains are fine choices, and a "test drive" might help to make your mind up one way or another. Good luck with your decision.
