Hey Tradgang Family - It has been a trying few months for Asbell Wool. But we are ready to talk about some happy, positive, "move forward" type things.....

Teresa has been working on a different collar, rather than her classic hood. She has come up with what we are calling the "Woodsman Jacket".....She will have a few at Compton this weekend, stop by and check it out. I will be in the booth with Teresa Friday and Saturday.....stop by and say hi!
As an aside.....what is the Tradgang opinion on the name? Thanks!
-
Looks like a great jacket and I think the name is fitting!
I assume there are hand pockets?
Good luck with the launch!
-
Excellent idea. Great name.
-
I like the new jacket. I had always hoped there would be a hoodless option, seems that the only time I wear a hood is in the pouring rain.
The Woodsman is a great name!
-
I love the style, I never used the hood with my other Asbell jackets, always felt the were too large and loose. This jacket has winner written all over it.
-
Roger, any idea when these will be available on the website? I need to have one of these.
-
Great news!!
Although I know it would be more work and increase prices for this option, if a WINDPROOF liner was offered, I believe sales would go through the roof!!
-
Thank you for the responses.....yes it has pockets.
I am not sure when it will be on the website, but shortly after Compton is my best guess.
THANK YOU!!! :clapper:
-
:clapper: : :clapper: EXCELLENT!!! :clapper: :clapper:
Been asking for this for a good number of yrs ;)
I like the hoods, but ...love the ease , versatility of a jacket with a simple collar .
Can't wait to add one or these to my outdoor wear lineup !
Thank you Teresa for an excellent line of hunter friendly products that help us hunt longer-harder , and in turn be more successful . Thank you !
On the name...."woodsman Jacket" ......sounds fitting to me .
Best your way Teresa , and Thank you Roger for keeping us informed brother !

Agree with the above, glad it has pockets. Perhaps eventually a Pathfinder without the hood?
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2: :campfire:

I am really excited about this new design and for sure it will be a blast.
I’ll be on line for buying at least one.
The name Woodsman also if it fits I think it’s a little over used in the archery community and there are some wool coats/ jackets with that name. But the important thing is the quality and design of the garment.
-
I like the look without
the hood. I hope they will be at etaR. ALL their WOOL IS QUALITY.

Great name and the jacket looks really good. I was just talking with a friend this morning that I'd like a jacket without a hood that I could wear over my pullover on those cold late season hunts!
-
I like it!!! Looks like it would make a good going out to supper at a steakhouse coat too!!!

-
Roger, that’s a great looking jacket
-
Roger,
That’s very nice without the hood I like it .
Now maybe her next design could possibly include upper pockets as well and somehow include a name after her beloved husband Fred .
Name it after the Legend himself like “The Asbell Bighorn” or The “Bighorn Legend” ?
I love the Woodsman name on that one but this is just in case she makes a special one in honor of the Legend himself .
God bless and tell Mrs. T. We all appreciate her talent .

That's a beautiful jacket, she makes some fine stuff for sure and very sweet lady to boot.

Looks like a winner to me. I want one for sure.

Teresa and I were sitting in her sons camp at Compton on Friday night....enjoying an awesome steak....when a young man walked by wearing the new Woodsman....both our heads snapped up....we were laughing, seeing the first Woodsman Jacket "in the wild".... :biglaugh:
-
I looked those over Friday at compton and my wife said you don't need it. Now if it was red and black plaid I might have argued a bit more.

Well I really do need a Woodsman Jacket. Can't wait for them to hit the website. :archer2:

Hi and great news with this new style. I like a hood, but if I had to make one, this would be it, I like separate head gear. Hurry home so I can get one!
-
I got one as soon as Tereasa set up been hoping she would make this one for a while she said maybe at Compton's when she was at Twin oaks great jacket
gm.

Good seeing you and Mrs. Teresa. I think the jacket looked great and I will be ordering one soon.
My daughter loves her blanket that I picked up for her at Compton. Mrs. Teresa did an outstanding job on it.

I am glad she loves the blanket.....we sold ALL of the blankets Friday and Saturday. Camping was a little chilly, and both mornings the blankets were hot items. Teresa had to have one of her sons bring MORE blankets down on Friday night. Thank you everyone for stopping by the booth!

Ah, the Woodsman Classic. :campfire:
I love that Traditional cut!!!!

I like this hoodless design.
Please update when it is available on the website.
Thanks.
-
More pics are coming soon Teresa says...
And I'll be taking some woods pics wearing one soon also...
-
Thanks for the update Terry. Can't wait to get my hands on one of those!
-
WOW! Another winner!!! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

I keep watching the Asbell website looking for the Woodsman. Today I noticed they have "Jacket with collar" posted on the site. Is this the same thing as the Woodsman?
Thanks.
-
The collared jacket is NEW. The Woodsman, hence the TITLE of this post. They are selling like hot cakes from what I've seen here and heard.
-
Yes. And they're fantastic, I'd been waiting for a hoodless version for quite a while. Super happy with this jacket.
-
Really like the looks of the jacket , while I actually like the hoods I’d get more use from one without the hood. Looks like they have a winner there.
-
Appreciate the replies.
Does sizing seem to run true to jackets from other companies? Is there a sizing chart on the Asbell website?
Thanks.
-
Yes, it's under size chart. :knothead:
-
Yes, it's under size chart. :knothead:
FYI, I ordered the half zip, sleeveless, hooded pull over and it’s plenty big. I was going to order a small but measured and deemed med the best choice but it’s a large medium. Looks and feels great!
**UPDATE**
To remedy the roominess I just ordered a small wind blocker vest, should be perfect!
-
Great Johnny!!! Can we get a pic?

Here ya go. I ended up with the Montana Magic sleeveless hoodie. Terrible model, but a fine wool vest that will be a comfort leaning against a tree this fall!
-
I spoke with Teresa the other day, the Woodsman Jacket has been a pretty good success. I have one on the way in a heavy green/black plaid.
-
I got mine Saturday, and yes, she told me last week that there has been a great response to this new introduction.
I'm going to do some field photos soon, along with the Hoodie she sent to me for the Laredo hunt to show off. I did take pics of that hoodie in the TX terrain, but I want to get some here in different vegetation.
-
I got one in the Evening Stand Green pattern and couldn't be happier. :campfire:
-
Yes, these new shirt jacks look great!!! Looking forward to field pics for sure.
-
I got the new jacket from Teresa at ETAR in the Little Delta pattern and really like it. As far as sizing most mediums are too small for me, but her medium fit me just right for our Pennsylvania fall archery season. Now waiting for the cooler temperatures next week!
Thanks Teresa, Jeff

They make great stuff, and this jacket is a great addition to the line. Great job Ms Teresa. :notworthy:
