Title: Kool aid dyed natural Turkey feathers
Post by: Homey88 on June 23, 2023, 11:54:56 AM
I dyed a couple of natural Turkey feathers with orange kool aid. Was unsure how the wild Turkey feathers would come out. I think they came out really good.

Dye job turned out well!!

I have a huge supply of turkey feathers for past year in LW and RW.  I may dye some but I need to find the guys who grind and chop them for you.

I dyed some orange and loved the look, but first deer I shot with them, I couldn't see the arrow at all and had no idea where I hit it.  Turned out to be good shot but made me wonder! Back to yellow for me.

They do look awesome!!

Jack try out the Little Choppers. I have 2 they work well. The big plus chopping them yourself is when you need to replace one feather. You can make one the same size.

I've done it for years and never had a problem with the color when they get wet

I used green apple and cherry flavor and left them soak for awhile and they came out super vibrant. The red with two white feathers really pop.
