Anybody use it for riser wood? Seems pretty cheap. I see some top end guys use it also is it toxic say like cocobolo or bacote.
-
Would it be structurally strong enough for a riser? Maybe as an accent.
-
I have built several with it
-
So you may need to Ibeam it ??
-
I have never I-beamed it but my bows are always below 50 pounds. I use it as an accent piece mostly. Not sure how it would hold on its own.

Good looking bows.

You can get some nasty slivers from it though.
-
Is it porus- hard to fill?
-
The people who live where it grows use black palm to make self bows. It’s strong.

I've found it hard to fill and splinters....
Good looking though
-
I guess I will find out soon. I ordered some today.
-
I played with it once….that was good enough for me. Wasn't worth the extra work involved to me… good luck with that stic. Kirk
