I just saw this and wanted to thank those who sent best wishes. I/we appreciate it. Yeah, Gene and I turned 79 yesterday but I only feel like a hundred. For a guy who has had five heart surgeries/procedures; two skin cancer surgeries; am a full-blown diabetic and have to shoot myself up three times every day; cataract and lens implants; twelve screws and two titanium plates in my right arm; a deformed/healed left shoulder joint; fractured left scapula; evulsion fracture of T3 vertebrae; screws in my right knee from a severe break ( I used to play hard); a few healed/ broken ribs and arthritic joints, etc. I actually don't feel too bad. That's why I look so good. Hang in there boys... these golden years suck! :biglaugh: Keep after them but slow the pace a little. Thanks. BW

And here I thought I was a bit beat up. Glad to hear you've still going strong still got your sense of humor too.
Just found your book with the finger book mark and bought it. Looking very forward to reading it. So many were lacking the bookmark.

Happy birthday boys. You are proof some guys are tougher than boiled owls, and an inspiraton for the rest.

Happy birthday guys. Have to say as a kid growing up in the 90s without internet and the only teenager I knew shooting a recurve…I read every article of yalls I could get my hands on. That usually led to checking the mail and snagging dad’s traditional archer copy before he got it!

Happy Birthday to you both. Hope you have many more years with good health to enjoy family and friends.......and to draw the string.

You have plenty of years left! Maybe more importantly than birthdays...why kind of bucks are you seeing this year? Are you still filling deer. I'd like to see trad bow close range mid west bucks. And a new film. I have always wondered, do you have access to good acreage or own your own?
We are fighting a a mast year of acorns. Which would e great if you have the oaks. We have a couple red but they aren't yet big producers. My chestnuts, persimmons, sawtooth, swamp white-oaks, plums, crabapples, red osiers, hybrid willow oaks and many others are not yet producing. And my food plots are lonely. I don't have enough timber surrounding our farm. Some neighboring farms have some better timber that could be the magnet right now. When the rut hits I should be OK. But nothing going on now. Two does last night. Thats it for the week.
