Title: Which size for footer?

Hey all, going to build some footers for my Easton Axis 400 shafts, by any chance does someone know which size aluminum arrow I’ll need for the footer?


Also what’s the jig called that puts the bevel on the aluminum arrow so it pulls from targets easier?

1916 seems to work for me on my 500s. If these don't work it's not hard to determine the right size

Outside dia of aluminum shaft minus 2x wall thickness will give you the inside dia.
Subtract about .005 inches from the ID for clearance and that will give you the dia of the axis shaft you can foot with it.

As far as the bevel tool I use a drill or drill press and a file. Works just fine

I use 2020 cutoffs for footing black .400 axis arrows. The ones with wood graphics may be a tiny bit thicker. Kelly would know for sure.

I’ve always used a “reloading chamfer tool” that has both inner & outer deburring/chamfer blades. Works great, simple and very uniform… :campfire:
