Title: Quiver Straps
Post by: bunyan on February 21, 2024, 05:33:19 PM
I have a great northern strap on quiver that I put on my longbow. In the past I’ve cut the excess strap off to keep it from flopping around but I’ve regretted it when I’ve wanted to swap the quiver on another bow. There isn’t much excess post to wrap the extra strap additional times and I’m worried it might pop loose while shooting. What do you guys do to your extra rubber straps? I’m thinking I might put a very small drop of superglue that I can still pull loose if I want to change bows. Thanks!

I used small black zip ties. Think they were about 4" long and pretty thin, worked well.

Thanks for the suggestion, JD Page! I have plenty of small zip ties lying around…I just wasn’t thinking about them being such an obvious solution! I’ll definitely give them a try.

I use those "Nite Ize" gear ties... basically rubber-coated wire ties... for a lot of things.  They make small ones, and they're reusable, as opposed to zip ties..

Electric tape works well and the black color blends well and is about the same width as the straps.

Why don’t you just order another set from Great Northern, you can even get a different color, brown or black. You can have one set for one bow and one for the other. They are easy to change.

Those are all great ideas. I didn’t see the additional suggestions until after trying the zip ties, which worked great! I do have a spare set of straps in case something happens to the ones I’m already using but I might just order another set to fit like Jack Denbow suggested but I get impatient and wanted to try something in the mean time.

Buying extra straps is probably the most ideal solution.

I used black electrical tape on the straps pictured here and it worked great. You could also use black hockey tape as well.

Best of luck, Great Northern quivers are awesome in my humble opinion.

I bought a set for my longbows and a different set (different length) for my recurves.
