Title: Another drop point hunter
Post by: shag08 on February 29, 2024, 06:25:10 PM
This wasn’t anything like what I had in mind when I started this build. It’s made from 1075 steel and was supposed to have a hamon. I was gonna bring out the hamon and acid etch. BUT….some idiot (me 😂) dropped it out of the forge and knocked all the clay off. Already had the brass guard fitted before heat treat, so it was gonna be a knife, one way or another! Ended up going with a polished blade and bocote scales. It was a fall back and punt build. But it made a good knife, nonetheless. Still haven’t gotten brave enough to taper the tang on one. Maybe one of these days. 😂
