Title: Addictive archery?
Post by: Mole trapper on March 12, 2024, 04:52:06 AM
Morning all, just a quick question? I bought some gear from addictive archery over there over 2 weeks ago, tracking stopped in LA, emailed the company 3 times now and no response   does anyone know anything about them please? Hopefully my goods turn up soon and nit disappear into a black hole in LA .

Andy is a good guy I know him well.  Once items are in the mail it is out of his hands. We ship bows weekly sometimes they will scan at place and could sit there a few days before moving. If it is a slow customs hub it could take a while

Thank you for that,  wonder why no response from 3 emails though? No out of office bounce back message.

I just recently bought some arrows from this site and the delivery was prompt and on time, my experience has been very consistent with this company and would not hesitate to buy again

I agree that once a shipping company takes possesion its out of the company's hands.  And customs can be a pain at any time. However, the company should reply at least.  I don't understand that, as I built my business on customer service.  Best of luck on your gear.  Keep us posted if you like, I'd like to hear that you received your package.

Thanks fellas, I'm sure the company aren't to blame,  courier companies are or can be awful.
It was just the worry about lack of coms.

No apologies necessary, we are 6000 miles apart talking on an Internet forum,  very easy to misunderstand each others abbreviated conversation.

I recently had a "slow" delivery through USPS.  Bow was shipped, arrived in my city then hovered for several days/week.  Finally, went back to main hub across the country, finally showed up, after four written inquiries and two on-line queries.  Seven weeks to go from Iowa to Texas, via Texas then Atlanta.  The servicing hubs are generally the problem.

I have shipped and been shipped quite a few packages and have generally had zero issues. Call me lucky. Of the two that had problems one was one of those priority mail boxes that came apart and the antelope horn sheaths were replaced with some random appliance cord much to the recipients surprise.

The other was truly enfuriating. Six weeks shipping a bow across SD when I could have delivered it in 4 1/2 hours. I sent several requests through the post office and not a single response. Then the package showed up at my house! I took it back to the local post office and it appears that they either didn't affix the postage or it fell off in transit. They were apologetic and sent it back out second day with delivery confirmation. I know it is frustrating as all get-out, so keep it in front of the shipper's face on a regular basis until you get the package or an answer. I don't know Andy, but I have seen his work for years and have never heard anything against him.

Good luck, hope it arrives soon.

Not taking insurance into the equation as the package has not been determined to be lost or destroyed, and that I shipped carpet all over the world as of a few years ago, my bet is its hung up in customs in LA.  If so, you're likely not going to get very far with them providing info(gov).  Give it another week before you dive in and raise the 'frustration factor'.

Thanks fellas,  addictive have now got in touch, apparently I must wait at least another week to see what happens.  So fingers crossed from now on.
Thanks for all your responses.

Lately, the USPS has been very slow. I recently sent a check to my favorite bowyer, and it took over a week to go from Idaho to Montana. Adjacent states, about 350 miles. Patience can be a virtue.

Speaking as a guy who has had a lot of stuff shipped from the USA to Canada lately, its likely (as others have said) vanished into the bowels of customs.

Its been my experience that customs is a black hole, wherein no information can escape, until it passes out the other side.   Sometimes the wait can be interminable, if they decide your package is "special".   Eventually, it will get moving again.

I wish Addictive was still Sponsor, so I could buy from them.

Delays sometimes happen. I had a shoulder mounted antelope shipped UPS a few years back.... and it took a little longer than I expected. 7 Years after the shipment; it showed up on my door step. Never give up hope!

Transportation system, be it product, or mail has not been the same in the last few years.
