Title: Pieced together a PAPR
Post by: dbeaver on March 16, 2024, 05:04:04 PM
I spent some time watching prices and produ ts across various sites and slowly accumalted this PAPR.  The headgear is absolutely ridiculous and I'd like to upgrade eventually to the helmet version with a real face shield. But for now I have a full setup for $440.  A brand new package system I'm finding over $1000 and towards of $1500. I'm interested in saving my lungs I've done PLENTY to them already, but those high costs were prohibitive.

I have been using mine for a couple of years now and I swear by it. It’s especially nice when I’m turning on my lathe. Your head gear is great for painting. The helmet is really nice. It’s rated for protection as a hard hat and a face shield. You can also get hearing protection that attaches to it.
Make sure to get the thin plastic shields that go over the face shield to prevent it from getting scratched.
They are expensive, but I am beginning to become allergic to sawdust from some woods and I’m not ready to quit working with wood.
Dave.
