Ok, since it seems to be getting harder to get heavy glue-on heads, I thought I'd ask.
-
Glue on only for me.
-
Don’t own any screw in broadheads.
-
Mostly screw-in...some glue-on.
-
Glue-on with woodie weights. Screw-in with aluminum arrows.
-
Glue on. I usually turn them into screw in with BH adapters. So much scope for different point weights with the same BH using glue on's
I don't understand the industry's chosen path with everything being screw in only. It severely limits your options to mix and match and come up with what you want.
I put it down to modern laziness. Just buy it and shoot it with no building your own gear in between.

Moslty Glue Ons with a adapter glued in so it becomes a screw in.
The only true screw ons that I own are VPAs.
Both my preferred heads weight total 175 grains, so I just use the one piece VPAs on the days I feel lazy.
Sorry Clint, but you set yourself up for that one. :biglaugh:

If I want to use aluminum I put glue in broadhead adapters and for carbons I use glue in brass BA.

Ha Ha. You got me.
Everything seems to be one piece machined these days that's all. Seems as though they are catering for a market that wants plug and play.
Also, long gone are the days where you could buy a half dozen BH's for $30. Now they are $60+ for 3. :o

Ha, some people probably think I couldn't work out how to use a screw-on anyway....
Maybe they're not wrong
Glue-on for me

I love glue ons. So much versatility.

Clint;
When I was a grasshopper I could get a dozen for under $40, but that was allot of money.

Screw ins for me since I shoot aluminum arrows.
I do take glue ons and make them screw ins with adapters if that counts. This Ace Standard worked great.

Glue ons for me since I only shoot woodies. I am disappointed with a lot of heads having a lack of glue on options.
-
I use glue on broadheads -- with glue-in-glue-on brass adaptors on carbon shafts. That makes a very sturdy arrow with more weight up front.
Mostly I use 125 gr woodsman broadheads with 100 gr brass inserts and a 5 gr 3Rivers carbon collar.
-
Both Depending upon need/circumstances. Declare and hard line and put yourself in a hole.

About 90% of the time I prefer glue on's. My carbons, woods, and aluminum (with a glue in adapter) all work with glue on heads and provide me the most tuneability. I do use some screw in Stingers on occasion for aluminum shafts; but that's mainly a special purpose situation that rarely occurs.
I think the movement away from glue on heads by the manufacturer's is largely due to their more modern customer's neither having the time, skill... or the inclination to 'mess' with them.

Wood arrows glue on. Aluminum arrows screw on. :archer2:
-
I only shoot carbon or aluminum arrows and 125 or 175 grain heads.
Maybe someday I will find compressed and tapered cedar shafts.

Glue on with woody weights
-
Glue on only.........wood arrows for me
-
Interesting to see the lean towards glue-on heads. I guess it makes a bit of sense with variability of insert weights available for those shooting non-wood arrows.

I do use both, but I prefer glue on. It seems I’m always tightening screw-in heads.
And I only shoot 150-160 heads, it’s been no problem to find them. If I need heavier I’ll figure out a way to add weight. Where there is a will there is a weigh.😁

I'm finding it hard to get glue-on field points over 190 grains, and broadheads over 250 grains.

Glue on because with them you can go with wood and with adapters to achieve any desired weight
