O k I gotta kick out of the best three d bow ha ha....
So now what is?
The best hunting bow in the world??? :biglaugh:
-
The bow I am holding at the moment in time for the situation I am anticipating.
Easy peasy. Bows are nothing but tools just like screwdrivers, one doesn't fit all.
-
8ft and a bowling ball OMG
-
What Terry said X2.
-
The one I shoot the best all the time.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2: :campfire:
-
I agree w Terry as well.

What Terry said.

Mine!

I like short bows..short bows work for me out to 20yds or a shade more..last year I hunted with a "48" SuperMag..this year it'll be the 54" Shrew I've become quite fond of. It feels big..
-
The bow that kills everything you point it at.
-
As has been said, the one in my hand. :archer2:
-
The Martin ML 10, I think with smoothness, no handshock, ease of tuning and above just a joy to shoot especially when folks are watching the ML10 comes out on top!
-
I haven't seen much that a 60# Moab wouldn't take care of.
-
Dave have to agree.

Very partial to my Rocky Mountian Recurve not the fastest but very forgiving.

My Wild Horse Creek Destiny

Right now I'd have to vote for Moosejaw Razorback.

I would say get a bow of adequate weight that will kill N. American animals. Then if hunting bigger game get some new limbs. Having a bow that I am comfortable with is very important. I am more of a one buy kind of guy. But that is me
-
For me it would be my factory camo 1984 Bear Kodiak Takedown (60#@28"), 60"amo. I absolutely love this bow. :archer: :goldtooth: :archer:

The tool analogy by Terry seems right for me or say, golf clubs. When you need a sand wedge you really need one and it is the best thing for sure at that time.
So, with bows, a takedown to me seems very likely if you fly or travel to your hunting areas. Although, it is hard to beat a RD full length bow like say a black widow in the right length, is light as a feather and performs very well, as fast as their recurves ... hard to beat for sure. But a 64" Morrison Dakota would also be rock'en and several other brands i'm sure as well.
Others are the bear takedown system, especially with say Schafer limbs or something like that. And the venerable Pronghorn takedowns which are three piece and takedown as short as the arrows. And shoot very well indeed.
But I have hunted with one of those old fiberglass stickbows when younger. They are very durable and make good boat bows for carp, that you can keep in the boat no worries ....
Another good mention is the Schafer designed recurves. I had another Bowyer, who was known for doing a great job on snake skins tell if you really want a fast recurve .... get a Schafer, it is a fast design that still holds up. It doesn't blow up on you after a flight to africa .... ....

Like your thought process, there are allot of good bows out there. I'm a one piece D/R longbow fan; MOAB, Big River and Moosejaw come to mind.

54" Pika for me. many bows I still want to try though.

For me it will be the Custom Kodiak. The legend at the service of the practical. In bubinga obviously ! :saywhat:
-
I have to say the the Howard Gamemaster Classic. The most inherently accurate bow I've ever shot. At my age I'd love to have a 35# model to carry me through the rest of my hunting years.

I've read and heard allot of good times about the Howard Gamemaster 66" recurve. Hope you have many hunting years ahead, Charlie.

My 2011 Bubinga Bear Kodiak Takedown.

Nowadays there are a lot of great , fantastic and exceptional bows on the market and we all are blessed with really talented and knowledged bowyer but the Bear TD system is really something different maybe not the fastest not the well made bow out there but a bow that can cover all the Bowhunters needs. So my vote goes to the Bear Custom Kodiak TD

A Morrison Dakota longbow, '95 I think. Yew limbs, Cocobolo riser. 57 lb@my draw. With the pinecones carved in the grip for traction. Remember those! That thing put arrows on top your other arrows. With cedars or those original version AD Trad tapered shafts. I broke it at the sight window/shelf. I could shoot good at twice the range that I do now.
Or an Acadian Woods Treestick. I don't know why I sold that one.

I haven't seen much that a 60# Moab wouldn't take care of.
Absolutely, nor a 70#. I have yet to use the #50 as I'm still pulling 60 with ease. However, the 60# has killed more animals by far. It's freakin Magic.
-
Have to agree about the mid-60# MOAB's. Hoping to test Moosejaw Razorback 60# with some Snuffer and Grizzly Instinct heads this year, so far the draw cycle on this Moosejaw is one of the best I've had. Tried and own some pretty good bows.

Martin ML 14 i think everyone should own one and nothing else,,, its straight Limb excellence. :archer2:

Which ever one I’m most accurate with at/above the legal limit.
