Getting me excited for September. Hopefully hurricanes will leave us alone.

Very nice! Congrats.
Do you cook em up or buzzard bait? Most guys I know around here (Texas) leave em for the buzzards this time of year. I've recently seen a group passing through my place and thought about doing up a pig roast for the 4th this year but wasn't sure how the meat would be.

Congrats! Fine eating right there! :clapper:

I have no idea how many TX hogs I've eaten killed in camp. Big boars also. We grill up the backstraps the night of the kill, and have eaten the rest during the rest of the hunt.
If I shoot something, I intend for it to be eaten, either by me, camp mates, feed the needy, or the ranch hands.

That's the philosophy I grew up with.

We always eat them! Fried back straps! Pot roasted with onions and bell peppers :notworthy:

I always have a big cooler of ice in the back of my truck when hunting hog. Just in case. I'm usually a couple hours drive from home, not counting getting hog to truck via kayak.
