They're coming for your Bowhunting :readit: :readit: :readit:
We have been using the 'Hunting Legislation & Policies' forum for years for posts like this, but I think it time to put others like this one as well here on the Powwow as bowhunting is not coming under serious attack.
After all, we are a Bowhunting forum, therefore we should all be defending bowhunting in the most profound, and aggressive way possible.
Even if you don't live in Australia, you and many others might not get to hunt there some day. So, I say Aussies and all of us should chime in. Sign if you wish.
The number is 3,620 now.... lets see where she goes.....

Thanks!
-
Should we assume you meant "now coming....."
Thanks for the information.

Hud, no sure what you mean, but they is a group of people.
Not too bad guys, nearly 200 since I posted and that was while the Aussies were sleeping.
-
They are now at 4,135 signatures, AND, we gained a new member last night from Australia. A Mr Ethan 'Stickbowfever' Moore. :clapper:
And on a side note, we picked up from Belgium Xavier Schotte :wavey:
-
Hopefully they will get their signature goal and more today!!! :clapper:

Let's keep this going. Sign the petition and donate whatever you can afford.
Here is the petition link:

DO IT TODAY. Our members in Australia need our support.
-
Australia has a long history of rolling over and having their rights stripped from them,(gun rights, covid internment camps etc..) no petition or donation is going to change that, only they can stand up for themselves.
-
So JD, should we roll over and not fight back as well????
-
I'm sure there are plenty of people in Australia who hate to see this happening, including esteemed members of TradGand, so I think it's appropriate that we add our support.
We had a similar thing happen here in California a generation ago, when the hunting of mountain lions was outlawed, not just by a law, but by a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT! So now rather than people paying the state for the privilege of hunting mountain lions, we pay professional hunters to do the same thing in areas where mountain lions become overpopulated or a menace.
I remember at the time seeing posters of the cute mountain lions in gift shops in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Very appealing to millions of voters who would never get any closer to a real mountain lion than the cute posters or a zoo.
-
If we were fighting this madness, I would hope the Australians would fight for us as well. It's not just one country fighting anymore, its global, and I'm in to help any where or anyway I can.
-
I hope our members from Australia chime in and let us know how we can help.
-
Well I signed and donated I’ll fight these F@&$” where I can, I know my brothers from down under signed a petition supporting California bear hunt got your back .
-
Couple of thoughts. Our politicians would not give a hoot if Aussies chimed in on our business. They wouldn’t and i know some. The should NOT keep us from supporting them in print and $.
Secondly, this will have an effect here: hunters hunt! Disbar me from here, I’ll go there . It’s in our blood to pursue critters -as an example, Blake and ran into a flock of Mormon crickets, and we attacked with the longbow!
Those well off Aussies will not get a crack at Red Stag and will come here for elk. Bowhunters in NV have 15 years between elk tags in some cases. Nonresident hunters have more time waiting than that! Welcome Aussies, but the wait is long here
Next, is this just one state or to affect the entire continent?

I just read where Australia is poisoning crocks. Seems politicians talk out of both sides of their mouths there, as well!
-
Roadkill,
You answer is on the petition I posted in the 1st post. :campfire:
-
Roadkill, just to make sure everyone can read and see, the scientist gave them food poisoning to save them. Sounds crazy, but here it is.

:biglaugh:"internment camps" :biglaugh:
Petitions, parliaments , democratic process is how we get it done.... sway public opinion , and then get the non hunting public to vote accordingly

Ben, its easier to fool a man than it is to convince him he's been fooled.. If I came home from vacation and was forced against my will into a "camp" for two weeks I know what I would call it. Freedom is not easily understood by folks that have little of their own. I know this by living years outside the US. When living in West Papua for three years working with many Australian friends one of the things they wished that they had in common with Americans was :biglaugh: FREEDOM :biglaugh:
-
Yep, agree 100%….
Freedom ain’t easily understood by folks that have little of their own ….
We prob differ on what ‘freedom’ entails though…..
Ya’ll have fun now😎

We're all free range, not free.
