If so, could you post a pic?
Thanks,

Here’s a wiggly Osage with a pair of bullsnakes I made this spring.

NICE!!!!
-
Very cool looking bow!
Just don't lay it on the ground...somebody might want to kill it.
-
Bullsnakes are one of my favorite patterns.
Terry - are you having Jim Neaves build you a new bow or skinning an existing bow?
-
The coolest part is the tiger stripe tail IMO
-
Yes, been in line for a Super Curve for a while.
I have prairie rattler on my longbow from him.
-
Nice Terry!
Jim just about has me talked into a Triple Carbon Elite longbow. If I go that route, I'll have him back it with snakeskins. His work is amazing.
-
Yes McClean, he surly does. Lots of talent in the Sponsors here.
Here's a better pic of the Prairie Rattler.

Dang Terry, that looks great.
-
Yes, yes it does. I was thinking about Timber Rattler on the next one, but he said he gets more grey skins than the 'goldish n rust' ones we have around here....
Grey examples.......
Gold and Rust examples.....
And here's one more of my Prairie Rattler....
-
Jim just sent me these, and they look like ours here. Especially the top left one.
-
it is against the law to kill snakes in WV. I wonder what the game warden would say if he checked a guy and he had snake skins on his bow? Might have a hard tine explaining it.
-
Don't know, I don't hunt WV.
I wouldn't worry about it if I did hunt WV. It also wouldn't be hard to explain either.
-
I really like the ones in the top left pic.
I'm a sucker for nice snakeskins on a bow.

This is a very interesting thread. You guys are all into the Trad stuff I can tell. Hope others post more snake bows. That reminds me, I have to learn how to properly add photos that are always right side up! :knothead:

Here is a recent re-skin of prairie rattlers on my longbow. The prairie rattler pattern fits a bit better on the narrow limbs than the previous diamondback skins. As long as I was refinishing the bow I tried my hand at drawing a bit.

These are Pacific Rattlesnake skins Jim Neaves put on my Black Widow PL III.

Sturgeon Skinned selfbow I donated to the PBS last March.

How about a key snake?
-
Here is one.
-
I really love snake skinned limbs and I had/ have some from different bowyers. Most bowyers make a great work but Bob Morrison was famous for a fantastic work. IMHO Jim Neeves is even better his skins look printed how well he makes them.

This is a Silvertip with the Bull snake skins.

Python
Hope this pic goes thru, Don't think i have ever posted one
-
I've been wondering about Python skins. There seems to be an abundance in Florida.

wow that python skin is cool.
I still like the Bull snake pattern best though, I am surprised to see these bows aren't using the tiger stripe tail section! that would be such a cool transition into a black limb tip IMO. I consider them good snakes.
I dig the prairie rattler too, it's a local snake so I may be biased. I have seen those things 4 feet away, turned my head and took me 15 minutes to find the stationary snake again. real masters of camouflage. They give me the goosebumps, they are on my bad snake list.
-
Western Rat snake, yes!
-
rainman, you got some splaining to do.....
Best get to listing those skins in order!!! Outstanding!
Yes, the python looks great!
-
Sorry rainman, I didn't see the names under the pics. Thanks for sharing!
Here's my Morrison Cougar with Timber Rattler....

Bear b mag with #1 limbs with snake skin
-
Jegs..... what snake?
-
Here's a close up Terry. I have to admit I'm not well versed in snakes being a Michigan deer hunter. I think I bought these limbs from Beeman.

Western Diamondback on my Robertson Montana Falcon takedown.

Can any of you guys tell me what kind of snake skin is on my limbs?

All snakes in Virginia are protected, but not all states have those laws. I like the laws, but I also like snake skins on my bow. There is a fence here, and I am firmly upon it. :readit:
