Will be retiring next month have been thinking I want another bow. As I don't need one..only have 7 now. Been debating between a widow psr or a javaman Elkhart. Have shot the javaman but have no idea on the par. Hoping someone here can tell me the good or bad about them. Thanks

First of all, congratulations on your retirement, mine is a few short months away.
I haven't shot the PSR, but I have a PL and it has the same riser. It seemed finicky at first and I was having some issues being consistent with it, but after making a few minor changes in nock point and shelf material, those issues seem to have gone away, thanks to Mike Bolin who was the original owner of the bow. If the PSR shoots like the PL, you should be very happy.
The Elkheart is a winner. One of my favorite bows ever. I started with a 56" and sold it recently to fund the new 52" Elkheart Magnum which should be ready in the next week or so. The Elkheart is fast and very quiet, and the grip is amazingly good. I don't see any downsides to the bow. Just make sure to talk with Gregg about the right length for your DL.
Let us know what you decide on. :archer2:

Both excellent bows. I'd go with the Elkheart because I know Gregg Coffey from a different pursuit and he's someone I definately would trust and like to do business with. Tell him "Stumpkiller" sent you and he'll add $15 to your price. ;-)

There is absolutely no bad with either. :campfire:

Retirement bow, that was my excuse 3 bows ago and I was looking before the last was delivered. In fact the PSR is at top of list believe it or not.

Elkheart all the way... or any of Gregg's bows!!
I've owned three different Java Man models - all are awesome, but the Elkhearts just fit me best!
Gregg is an awesome bowyer & gentleman to deal with, you'll have zero regrets if that's the direction you go.
Congrats on retirement - Enjoy!!

Congrats on the retirement :clapper:
I have two Elkhearts and never tried a widow so …

I am always been a recurve guy but those Elkheart don’t make me miss the curves. So fast quiet and accurate. Gregg is a joy to deal to.

Let us know which one you end up ordering :campfire:

After talking with Gregg I'm leaning toward a 58 inch Elkhart wood specs to be determined thinking about bocote or a pair ferro with a spalted maple or myrtle burl...

Congrats to you......Retirement is no small thing, kinda a huge deal. Infact so huge, I think you owe it to yourself to buy both of those bows!!!!!! Maybe shoot them both for a bit and if you want, pass along the one you like less

You deserve it after all these years of work, enjoy your new bow both are good choices.

Never had a psr, but pchs, pass, kbx and pmas have passed through my hands. Great shooters, but I guess I'm just not a widow fan. A buddy sent me his Elkheart recently that he knew I liked. I don't see me getting rid of it so I'd say Elkheart all the way. Gregg does some phenomenal combos w woods and horn.
Mine is quilted maple w moose antler accents and tips.

beautiful! thanks!! right now, I've decided on a myrtle burl/G-10 riser, and quilted maple limbs the same color as yours with moose antler on the tips and handle.
