Title: Current production shaft that would match the old CE Heritage 150?
Post by: MnFn on September 15, 2024, 04:47:49 PM
I have a 52# recurve that I shoot pretty well. It seems to like CE Heritage 150. Anybody know what other carbon shaft would be likely to match that CE?
I have a few left that are 28 1/4”, then add a brass 100 grain insert so about 28.5”
With a 150 grain head this finished arrow weighs right at 575 grains. So I think a nice hunting weight out of my Tall Tines

I am shooting a 53# Widow right now and I shoot both the CE Heritage 150 And the Easton carbon legacy 400 shafts out of it. The CE 150s shoot fine but the bow loves the Easton's the best it seems. 200 grain field point or Snuffer 160 + aluminum adapter (right at 200 grain also) 29" arrows. Hope this helps!

It does help.  I have some older Axis 400, and some FMJ400.  I will see how they shoot. I am shooting a Tall Tines recurve that is one pound lighter than your Widow. My draw length with this bow is 28” and prefer 29” arrows.

The CE150 need a slight bit of tweaking, but are very close. I used them for awhile with a 51# Shrew Classic Hunter, and another bow or two,  but got away from them when I focused on using Surewoods. I will still use woodies with my longbows and maybe the recurve occaisionally.

I was thinking of buying new arrows but have quite a supply of a variety of arrows so would like to use what I have if they fly right. I found a few used ones so I will end up with a dozen or so of 150s. But they will need to be replaced eventually.

Thanks for taking the time to respond Fred, I appreciate it.

I'm currently shooting Heritage 150's and will miss them when they are all gone. I'm lucky that my friends gave me ones they weren't shooting anymore so have a couple of dozen.
