Browsing Craigs List sporting goods last week..... the ad said, "Compound Bow for sale and 4 old bows. The photo only showed the compound, but in the background was a partially covered up recurve. I bit....and bought! Such a deal!!

Richard ,
You done Well my friend :
That Howatt is really catching my eye and I have two of those same Herters you have
As well.
I love the late 50-early 60s bows and how much bowyers back then really know how to build them.
Lots of good finds you have there and so happy you found these.

That is one heck of a find! What are the models and specs?

Looks like you found the pot of gold :goldtooth:

The top bow is a Damon Howatt Palomar..40#
Second is a Herters CV International Match..40#
Third is a Bear Super Kodiak..50#
Fourth is a Herters International Match Hunter..+_ 40#
I'm refinishing the Bear..the original finish was crackled and flaking...A bear fan said it was made in 1973. Glass is great..no cracks. I sold the Howatt and will also sell the Herters CV. I re-shaped the grip on the Herters Hunter and am in the process of refinishing it. I'll put some phenolic layers on the tips and give it away to a deserving youth. There are over a hundred different arrows...some carbon, some aluminum, some wood. I did get one box of Herters hunting arrows with broadheads and one box of Herters aluminum target arrows. The compound is an early Hoyt with all the gear..quiver, sight, rest, two releases, Nikon range finder, and arrows with broadheads. Another set to sell/give away/trade. I'll keep the Bear back quiver and Cedar arrows with field points and give away the carbons and aluminums. If you need some for a youth program, let me know.
