Went to look at a stand site we hadn’t put up yet

Saw him coming and stepped behind a huge locust tree and when he came thru I mouth bleated and stopped him

About the time my brain said turn it loose he lunged forward and it hit him in the hip

Trying not to puke I watched him run a hundred yards and circle back

Another arrow on string and I shot him in the neck on the run

Led him too much I guess

Neck shot killed him in 130 yards

I’d buy a lottery ticket but I’ve used up my allotment of luck for this week

Stuff happens ,I think most have had one or two of those wanting to heave moments ... and anyone it hasn't happened to yet hasn't hunted much . Every animal,it's movement at any given.....actions...reaction be different . We have to be prepaired and ready should something like this happen, and it will....Always have # 2 ready and easily accessible . You owe it to the animal.......
