I'm questioning myself on whether to chase down one ring and get to the fatter one or just stay with the one I'm at now. I'm thinking go down one ring. The photo is of the cutoff ends. Just FYI, as it is planned now the fatter side will be bottom. Currently at 68 ". 1 3/8" at fades with straight taper to 1/2". It does have some wiggles and a couple knots but not a biggie. Any opinions and guidance will be appreciated.

If the ring is clean the entire length I see no reason not to run with it. If you’ve dipped into the ring in any spots I would take it down one more. But I see no reason it won’t work as is.

I agree 100% with Kyle.

Thanks for the replies. Top ring is in good shape. Actually still have some early wood and around the knots to clean up but that will be easy as I'm down to where I want to be and basically scrape from here. I'll leave room, in case I do goof up, and go ahead and clean it up and continue as is. Should end up with the top three rings making the bow for most of the length if not all. Going for 50 or 55 lbs at 26. Any other thoughts just shout out.
