I know I've seen threads about this but my searches do not produce what I was looking for. (Compound riser and recurve limbs).
What compound bows work best for such a project? Thank for your time.

Do a search with the word "Warf"...you will get a bunch of info

Bear black bear. Warf or frankenbow with sage limbs
-
Thank you!

Your welcome. I have 3 black bear risers all are warf bows they shoot nice

Bear Black Bear compound riser with Samick Sage limbs. I was so impressed how well it shot I hunted with mine in 2021 and killed the buck in the picture at 30 yards. I have another Bear Black Bear compound riser and Samick Sage limbs to build another Frankenbow when I find the time.

Hoyt Rambo riser, real simple and a great riser in itself. Wish I still kept mine
-
Like RAMJET said, the Bear Black Bear riser with sage limbs. Pretty good combo and easy to assemble. The hard part is finding the riser, and a lefty was hard for me to find.
-
How close on the weight of the limbs does the bow turn out using the Black Bear riser?
-
Normally, you lose about 5# from advertised limb weight. You can also use a Bear Whitetail II riser with sage limbs. Not sure about weight loss.

My Martin Pantera riser worked out great.

I have a Warf from a hoyt/easton ram hunter and i got an ilf milled aluminum insert coupled with a cheap pair of used Das limbs with bamboo core. Shoots so nice Im reverse engineering it into a one piece recurve form
