Title: String clicker question
Post by: Jock Whisky on February 07, 2025, 07:45:44 PM
I'm going to give a string clicker a try but I have a question.

I get the idea of weaving the clicker cord thru the bowstring bundles. But if I make a change to my brace height by twisting the bowstring the timing of the clicker will be affected.

Is that really an issue or does it happen so rarely that it's not problem?

Yep.  Once that clicker cord is through the bow string, you can't twist the string without the clicker cord wrapping around the bow string.  So, it's definitely best to work with a string that's settled so you don't have to keep adjusting it.  String clickers /draw checks are great, but they are definitely a pain to setup, and can even be a pain to train with.  They'll quickly show you any inconsistency in your form.

If you need to adjust string twist, just remove the clicker blade and unwrap the clicker string from the bow string and replace the blade. Easy peezy. With a little experience you can get a clicker set up in a very short time.
