As many know, 10s are better for long distance, yet a little less steady freehand.
I used them freehand, yet also used the base of a window seal in a tower stand, the stairs, the cross bars, or mesquite branch to steady them while glassing to advise others from a center hub of a wagon wheel in TX. I have used binos for years, but I really like this monocular MUCH better. I also used a tripod I brought to take pics of Sponsor items on a 2 second delay for clarity. I had no idea how great that was on a few occasions at a hub to simply pick up and rotate down any sendero I wished to view. The tripod that comes with these are extremely short and more for a table top type viewing, yet are GREAT for low angle hero pics.
The 8s are better here in GA, or east, for most as we are more interested in finding the animal quick and don't need that much magnification of a 10 . However, the 8s seem to be more limited, or 'out of stock' more often, but I'd be happy with either.
I'm going to take a chance that this will work out at a delivered price of $37.75 delivered to continental US and my packaging cost.

For those of you that didn't 'pre order' post, post on this thread if you would like to be considered if there are any left over and include mag choice. Based on my tests here, either would work where long distance is in play. I'd rather have this monocular than my binos no matter 8 or 10 for what I'm using it for and if either were to get lost, stolen or destroyed during both travel or hunting.

Also, I'm testing out the green hog light again tonight, AND there is an option I didn't realize when I ordered it. The light also comes with a 'switch' option for an upcharge. I've seen these listed for HI dollar before. I'm going to order another light with the switch option as see how it performs. The light comes with a rechargeable battery and charger which I LOVE. Those cheap single AA batteries just don't cut it. I've snuck up on many with that cheap light, but after sneaking up on them with PDKs slow glow stationary, I realized how much I needed a brighter green light.
