So I heard a crack when clamping up my r/d glue-up #2. Took it apart and cleaned up the wet glue and discovered that one leg of the Z-splice gave way. The other two legs seem to be holding. Is there a way to save this board? Its already shorter than I wanted at 60". I suspect the glue line was a bit too thick.
Any suggestions?

Super Glue. Fill it real good with thin super glue and let it set for a day or so. Then give it a whirl. It should hold. You might also shape the handle after filling, and wrap with a strong thin string just like a serving on a bowstring or fishing rod guide. Then soak that with super glue. It will definitely hold then.
50-80# test braided fishing line works good for wrapping the splice.
