Do not ship it UPS, use the United States Postal Service.  Run a search on UPS and read the bad experiences others have had.  Also, there are many suggestions regarding packing methods for the bow.

I shipped a 1pc 64" recurve and used 2 6"x6"x48" boxes(cut the 1 box down to size)alot of bubble wrap and used newspaper to fill in the box.

Jim did you get the longbow I sent you? How do you like it?  I shipped this bow in pvc with caps.   I know its not a one piece recurve, but close enough.

Most recurves will not fit in a PVC pipe. I use two arrow boxes taped together with lots of padding. Also, good advice above on using the USPS. I wouldn't ship anything UPS any more.

I second the two boxes unless you have a cheap doskil shotgun hard case. They cost about $29. That has done well for me.
