Nitro Excellerant? Thought that material was taken off the market some time ago?
I never used it, after getting a sample to check out. Last guy I talked to that had a Nitro string (the braided stuff) had it break on him without warning. His thoughts were the braid worked against itself and cut the string from the inside.
Might do a search on Western Filaments--think they were the manufacturer.

Don't know about excellerant. Bought a new to me Bighorn that came with a new string. Was told it was a Nitro string. Doesn't look braided but it's saturated with wax.

I did some searching, and what little I found said it's not being made anymore, and it's not listed on the WF website (no bowstring material was listed there). That's the only Nitro bowstring material I've heard about. If it's black/white (kinda grey looking), my bet is it's NE.

Well, I didn't care for it so I took it off. Made up a B-50.
Looking a little closer at it I'd say it is braided. I guess they didn't last long for a reason although the b-50 is slower. All these years and I never even heard of a nitro string.

Several years ago it was new and "hot", lots of folks were raving about it, but that didn't seem to last long at all. Never understood what the attraction was.
Since your bow is rated for FF type materials, you might try Dynaflight '97, 450+, or 8125.

I guess I lead a sheltered life, never heard of it.
Never been real big on fast flight, don't really know why. I've got so much b-50, I'll never run out at this age. Might buy a FF string just to try it, I guess.
Thanks for the replies LBR
