Title: Rose Oak=OUTSTANDING!!!
Post by: BD on June 13, 2008, 11:44:00 PM
Received my RO Wildcat from Brandon last week (2 months early). All I can say at this point is WOW! It has a bocote riser w/wenge accents and bocote veneers on the limbs. When I first opened the box, I thought that it may be too pretty to bring out into the woods-until I shot it! I have owned my fair share of takedown recurves including Silvertip, Marriah, Habu, Palmer, Martin Hatfield, Hoyt Gamemaster, etc. So far, none are better in terms of looks, forgiveness, and performance (only the Habu is close-at least in my hands). As good as any bow may look, accuracy is the bottom line IMO and so far the RO outperforms my 2 previous favorites in this area (the Habu and the Hoyt GM). Anyone considering a new takedown recurve should give a serious look to the RO Wildcat!!

I agree with your review, if I was still shooting recurves, you can be sure i would have another Rose Oak.  I loved my king panther, wish I wouldnt of sold it.

I will try and post pics here in the next  several days-did I also mention that it is very quiet-more quiet than any bow that I have shot other than the Marriah? It is also just as fast as my Palmer and my previously owned RER. My last 2 groups of 2 tonight (4 arrows total with broadheads) at 25 yards were under 2 inches-yes I may be in love!!!

Ayyah, a most under-rated bowyer! I love both my Rose Oaks, Panther King T/D & the WildCat T/D.

The WildCat is on Brandon's web site, the wenge & tulipwood one. It's a "pretty" bow!....LOL. But man it sure can fling a quill!!!

Congrats on a great bow!

I agree.  Rose Oak bows are top of the line.  I have the Wildcat T/D with wenge and bocote accetns and red elms limbs.  The bow is smooth and accurate.  I will be getting my Marriah Thermal in a few months.  I can't wait to see how the Thermal compares.  I probably will be getting rid of the Thermal.  It will be hard to beat the Wildcat in performance.  Ken

I really like my WC T/D. It's the best shooting bow I have owned since '58. And the best looking. Hap

Still loving my King Panther. Brandon really has his act together.  BD, you PM'd me a couple times about my new Rose Oak, I figured it was just a matter of time before you pulled the trigger and got one ordered.

Ken,

Hold onto your Thermal.  You'll regret selling it if you do, like I did twice    :knothead: ,  and order another one as I did!    :D

I'm looking at the new Tomcat T/D.  That bow looks like it would make a great hunting tool and I wouldn't think twice about taking it into the woods!!

Wildman, I've got a brown/brown glass model in the works. Should be done in the next 6 weeks. I have wanted one of Brandon's bows for quite a while now and when I saw that Tomcat on his website recently I had to give in. I couldn't resist a good value. I'll try to post some pics. and first impressions when I get it.

Brandon is an Artist, a genius when it comes to wood.I cannot wait until he starts building a hybrid or a longbow!

I just purchased an as new, used King Panther at the Coon Rapids shoot today. What an impressive bow. Shoots very fast and beautiful workmanship. I didn't really need the bow but I just couldn't walk away from such a value. Not sure If I will keep it as I am trying to get to shooting a single bow and have found that the Big River R/D longbow seems to suit me best but, I'll sure enjoy this one while I have it.

stabow, I saw that one when it came up, (pretty sure that's the one) and had some serious thoughts about it. You did good! It's definitely a very beautiful bow. If you ever let it go keep me in mind. I've got a nice stable of L/H Hills that I could let you pick from. (not that you would, but what the heck) In the meantime I'm starting to contemplate the wood for a Puma' of my own. 'Think it will be a 58"er.

Burnsie- you are correct-I'm very happy with the purchase. I did like my Thermal as well, but I din't like the grip (especially compared to the Rose Oak), and the Rose Oak is clearly faster.

Nice looking bow!

Brandon sure does know his business.

If anyone gets a chance to visit him, he is a nice guy and has a VERY impressive bowbuilding shop.

My Wildcats aren't going anywhere :-)

I have been shooting my King panther constantly since I got it in Jan. It looks like a work of art and it shoots a heavy arrow hard and fast. You cant go wrong with one of Brandons bows.
