Title: Want to help name an EFA bow quiver?
Post by: 2fletch on June 14, 2008, 10:34:00 AM
We are ready to start selling a new fastening system for our EFA bow quivers, but we have a problem. The system looks great and we are building an inventory as we prepare to show them. However, we haven't been able to decide on what to call the new system. We have it narrowed down to two names currently, so maybe Tradgangers would like to help decide which one, or even another name.

One of the names is "Talon Grip". That would be appropriate, since we are "Eagle's Flight Archery" and the grip of the new system is as sure as that of an eagle's talon. The other name is "Lockdown" which is pretty descriptive.

Since we are a sponsor on Tradgang, and many of  you are our customers, we thought that it would be appropriate to get some imput on naming this new system. We welcome your opinions.

I'll try to show photos of some of our latest quivers with the new limb gripping system. The photos will be of Navajo X Jumbo quivers made using snakeskin or frog skin.

Why not   Talon Lock-down?

How about combining them so it doesn't sound so much like the Black Widow takedown system.

The "Talock"

I agree with combining the two. "Talon Lock-Down"

if just one name I prefer "Talon"

Don

Glad you were able to find a use for a plastic loop on your quivers. We have used them succesfully on our quivers for quite a while. It really helps folks secure there quiver to the bow. I know this will help with slipping issues with the design. I think you have a good name that fits with Eagles Flight...."Talon Lock-down" as James said. take care

Well, it's still open for opinions. However, I kinda like the sound of "Talon Lock-down". That was pretty good Tim. I can't believe that I didn't connect the two.

Either Talon Grip or Talon Lock-Down. Either way, it is a great system!

A few days ago, I received the quiver I won in the St. Jude's auction with the Talon Grip. Since I put it on my bow, I've shot probably close to 200 arrows, and the quiver hasn't moved at all. Heck, as hard as I try, I can't get that quiver to move without loosening the straps. I'm very impressed!

How About "TLD"  Short and sweet, and then we all know it means Talon Lock-Down.
Your already EFA, Now your EFA with TLD!!

The new system will be available with the (4 arrow)Cherokee and Navajo models in either the standard or Jumbo sizes. It would be available in the Mini and Maxi models only by special order.

Right now Tim has the edge for a free quiver. He was the first to come up with "Talon Lock-Down".

Curt, the Jumbo is bigger then the Maxi. It's about 1/4 inch wider and about 1/4 inch deeper then the Maxi. It's not huge but it is very lightweight.

Just plain....

TALON

all by its lonesome.

Well, I couldn't wait. I went ahead and put 4 quivers for sale on the "Sponsor's Classified" section, even though the name of the system is still undecided.

Tim, if you got any more names then go ahead and submit them. otherwise someone else might snipe you on another name. I think however that you're still in the lead, right now.

Good luck and good night.

I think you should call it the Eagle's Claw Lock Down System.

Tuesday will probably be the deciding date on reaching a name for the new grip assembly.

Anyone participating in coming up with the new name can get 10% off the purchase of any one of our quivers with this soon to be named assembly. This is how we'd to show appreciation for your support. This offer will be limited however only to the month of June,08.

Rob, your quiver will go out today. Thanks and enjoy.

Tonight the name will be decided at the "bored" meeting. It will be based on the number of votes on this thread plus votes from Karen and I, and the guys who come over tonight to shoot. Right now it appears that "Talon Lock-down is in the lead.

I'll repeat that we have listed 4 of the new quivers on the "Sponsor's Classified" section of Tradgang. I believe that all of those listed have been sold, but we have made, and are making others  for anyone who wants one. The ones we are currently making are similar to those shown.

Since I already have one with this attachment system, and ordered it as the "Talon", I vote for that. Any variation of Talon is good IMO.

Well, it was very even between "Talon" grip and "Talon Lockdown". There were three more votes at the evening meeting for "Talon" grip. That was enough to take it over the top. In the future it will be referred to as the "Talon" grip or lockdown system.

Thanks to everyone who participated. I believe that a large part of the traditional archery industry still belongs to us as individuals. At Eagle's Flight Archery we welcome your ideas and invite your participation. Remember that anyone who participated in the naming is eligible for a 10% discount for a "Talon" grip quiver purchase through the end of the month.

Just for your information, the name "Talon" was first suggested by a friend who was instrumental in developing new products (and names) for the "modern" archery industry. He has since started shooting traditional and currently shoots a well designed longbow that he made three weeks ago.

We have another new product that we're going to bring out probably next week. It's something that we have worked on for almost two years and finally
I think that we have it right. We might submit it here on Tradgang for discussion. I believe that we already have the right name for it, but we might see who can guess the name or come up with a better one. Anyone interested in that?

Someone ask the question whether they could get a standard 4 arrow quiver with this new Eagle's Flight Archery "Talon" grip system. Yes, any standard size 4 arrow quiver can be purchased with either the standard or "Talon" grip. All Jumbo quivers will have the new system.

I thought that it would be appropriate to answer that here. And again thanks for everyone who participated in the naming, those who ask good questions, and those who purchased one or more of these quivers.

Got one a few dayze ago and stuck'er on one of my Mohawk longbows - I LOVE the new lockdown strap design - still ultra lightweight, super fast and easy to attach, holds with an Eagle's talon grip.  If ya hate to use bow quivers, this new EFA will change yer mind!

Rob, that's a nice looking duo. I think that I like your photos better then mine. Thanks for the feedback.

Kevin, the official name now for the limb fastening system is now "Talon", but it will probably be used with grip or lock or even lockdown. Are you going to ATAR? If so then be sure to stop by and take a look at it. I'd like your opinion on another product as well.
