I got a bow from a nieghbor he had setting around its an all wood bow from thr sixtys all it says on it is medium under the grip is 55.
Heres the problem i shot it a few times seemed ok except the last time it came apart. it has a z splice and does not look like the z was ever glued it seems like the handle was all that was glued on well all that happened was the handle came off. It seems like its oak my idea was glue back the z add a new handle and back it but all i have to back it with is a thin peice of black walnut. Does this seem like it will work or would i be wasting my time, the limbs seem to be fine the z splice is still perfect it did not break.
the bow is 64" static tip limbs are 1 1/2 at the widest point.
thanks for any advice

I had one come apart like that. I re- glued the splice, glued the handle back on, and wrapped the handle and the fadeouts with leather lace. I'm not much of a woodworker, and it's ugly as homemade soap, but it's still shooting.

After gluing, could tightly wrap the handle/grip area its entire length in mason line and then varnish the string. That will hold it together.
