Can a lower limb be about 6.5" shorter then the top limb or is that to much? One of the ash bows I'm doing has a bad knot in one limb. A I was scraping it down to ruff size to dry more I found the bad knot and saw it has a crack that goes to the back and one side, I then cut it off to be safe, but now one limb is 6.5" shorter. I have seen Japanese bows that have the upper limb like feet longer.
I didn't see the crack till after I started to shape the handle area. I'm trying to get the bow 45#@26"
right now the bow is 61" long 1.5" wide. what do y'all think?
