i orderd some rivercane shafts from pine hollow. a couple weeks back. and they are really bendy and still seem to be green. how long does it take for them to season hard

color doesn't mean a whole lot, put'em in the sun for an hour or so, and the green will go away and they will turn a nice golden color.  If you ordered from Pine Hollow, I'd say they are ready for straightening and won't need to be seasoned/dried.  Tim

but they are all exteemly bendy

If you think theyare still green, tie them in a bundle and put them in a car with the windows rolled up.  That will dry them out in about two days.  If they are not in a bundle, they can bend from the heat.

make sure you tie them the full length of the shafts and not just use a rubberband on either end, this way it will keep them the straightest.

you can also use the stove top to heat treat them. It works well

if they are still green then they are a long way from being ready to make into arrows.  you need to cure them in the sun for a week or so.  then you will need to heat treat or temper them over heat.  if cane is made into an arrow before fully curing, it will gain spine over time and become a flyer which will have you pulling your hair out trying to figure out what's going on with your groups.
