A recurve bow??? :biglaugh:
-
How was the weather at Denton Hill? This is the first one that I have missed since this shoot began. I missed going to it and seeing the vendors and the people that I know and shooting.
-
mrgreenhead, they didn't make Kodiak Magnums until 1961 8^).
-
It is a recurve and not a static tip.
The weather was great. This is the first Denton Hill I have ever gone to and had a blast. I am still on sensory overload.
-
Acadian Woods???
-
Well im sorry i dont follow the bear bow craze.
-
it looks like the tip of a McCullugg (sp?) 59er. There was only one new one on the rack and it didn't last the frst day.
-
Don't tell me you bought another bow besides that one you stole at swap meet.
-
I swear i didnt steal that bow at the swap meet !!
The pic is not of a bow i bought. Although i wish i could have bought it.
Each day i will post a pic till someone guess's the bow.

I hope you're wrong Charlie. I walked around that swap meet every night and if I somehow missed a LH Choctah, well.... I wouldn't be very happy! :banghead: :banghead:

I gotta agree with Cahrlie on this one. Soon as I saw the handle I thought Choctaw. 'bout fell outta my chair thinking someone would actually part with a Jerry Pierce original.
-
was this bow really for sale?
-
Man that was quick !
Charlie was right !
Its a Choctaw by Jerry Pierce that was made for John Rook who very graciously donated the bow to PBS.
I have always wanted to see one up close and was fortunate enough to take a few pics of the bow. My pictures dont do the bow justice.
To top it off Mr Rook was at the show all weekend. I sat with him for many hours chatting and sharing stories. So many hours that my shooting partner left me at the tent to go shoot the courses. Mr Rook is such an inspirational man.

Yep, Charlie beat me to it :biglaugh: I thought the tip looked really familiar but just could not figure it out. Not to brag, but I am a proud owner of one of Jerry's Choctaws. Given to me as part of UBM's Bowhunter of the Year in 1990.
-
Hey Richard, i would love to see pics of your Choctaw.
-
I will see if I can. Never posted pics before. It's different than most of Jerry's bows. He kept asking me what I wanted. I told Jerry what ever he made would be great. They really shoot good besides the fine craftsmanship Jerry put into his bows.
