Well guys, I'm officially a full time (self-un-employed) bowyer now. I quit my extremely boring job producing ethanol last week and I'm now doing what I love again; making bows.
So... Those that do, send up a prayer for the Lord's provisions. I gave up $18 an hour so i can get caught up on some orders and still have some time off. So I thank you that pray for me in advance.
I'm pretty much at peace and feel I'm doing the job God gave me to do.

Good luck! Hope things work out for you.

Mike,
Prayers sent....good luck with the business... here in West Virginia it seems the state makes being self-employed as difficult as possible. Hope you're better off!!
-
Mike,
If you are where God wants you to be, ain't nothing better. Security is a good thing, but speaking from real-live experience sometimes the price gets too high when it's eating up your family time and your sanity. Prayers and best wishes to you.

Best of luck Mike.

There ya Go! Prayers up to you.

I've read many times that God's not so much concerned with what job we have or don't, but how we live and treat others we meet doing whatever it is we do to make an honest living.
Live well, keep the Son in your eyes and good things will come, I'm sure!

Mike made me an awesome longbow earlier this year. My daughter has since claimed it as her own. One of the best experiences I've had with a bowyer was with Mike.
I wish you all the good fortune you can stand buddy. I quit my job one week ago yesterday. Following my heart. God does provide - and Monday I will start over somewhere else. It is good to have freedom. God bless.

Thanks everyone. I did this once before but with 4 teenagers I didn't quite make enough to make them happy. I'm still on the books with the scholl distric as a substitute and I have that gig as well but I'm really going to make a go at it this time.
-
Mike, my son Jake said to tell you he's still enjoying his bow you made him. I say good on ya, you should be makin bows full time. We'll keep ya in our prayers.

I know two people who did this recently. One failed, had is house repo'd, owes a lot of people money and has a bunch of people wanting a piece of his back side, he took their money and has not delivered their bows. He was a popular person on this site for awhile, but now some say he has no integrity. Many on this site are the ones awaiting bows they may never get.
The other guy is making ends meet. He is struggling but he is an honorable man who is meeting his delivery dates and standing behind his bows. He will succeed because he is a hard worker and has a high level of integrity. He takes pride in his work and his bows.
You can also succeed. Take care of your customers, if you let even one down, it will cost you in the long run.
Good luck! What you are doing takes guts, I admire anyone willing to take a chance and follow their dreams.

And i believe you will make it too.Best of luch to ya Mike.Im still workin on the guy who owns the shop here in Reno,to order some bows from you.Especially your kids bows.

Thanks for all the warm wishes. I'll be okay, I'm retired from the Air Force and I'm also a substitute teacher, and if I kill a deer this year we might not starve! All the best.

good for you. do what you love to the glory of god and allow him to fill in the gaps. trust in him always. I always thought god wants us to use the gifts he has given. i looked at your bows onthe web site. he has surely given u talent.
