Chub,
No experience with the sitka but I am shooting the Alaskans out of my 65# and 75# longbows. I'm shooting 300gr up front for total weight of 800gr.They shoot better, fly better than any other carbon I've used. As for toughness I have not damaged or broken one yet in 3 months heavy shooting/hunting.

not to hijack Chub's thread, but I am looking at purchasing some Grizzly Stick shafts too.
However, before I plunk down my $$$, I would like to get advice on which shaft would be ideal for my setup: Zipper recurve 58@28. I am currently shooting a CX 150 Heritage w/ 100gr inserts and 125gr broadheads.
Thank you for your assistance.

A friend of mine has destroyed 2 Sitkas. One understanably shattered on some brick, but the other one snapped clean into twobits when it hit some soft timber surounding a target.
Nice shafts though.

J, with that weight up front I would say the Sitkas would be your best bet. The Alaskans cut 29 1/2 with brass inserts and 300gr up front fly perfectly out of my 64# bow (800gr total). Your not far off that mark. If you were shooting more up front and desire a heavier shaft the Alaskan may do. If you get them from Alaskan Bowhunting, and tell him you what you are looking for he will have best advice and would sell you two of each to try I'm sure.

look intot he A.D. trad lights/heavies. cheaper and just as tuff. IMHO

You want to go with the Sitkas. I will tell you from experience that the Alaskans will be too stiff for your set-up. I have an uncle who shoots Grzzly Sticks out of a 53# Widow PSA. The Alaskans are too stiff and the Sitkas are perfect.

Now that we have spun you around six times we want to see how straight you can walk. Honestly, I would call Alaskan bowhunting supply and get a test kit with both the sitka and alaskan. I got both to fly great out of my bow but I like the heaver shaft as I also have 300 up front.

Thank you all for your advice. It sounds like the Sitka may work best for my setup. I will definitely call AK Bowhunting Supply and see about ordering a test kit.
Thanks again TradGangers!
