Post by: RC on October 10, 2008, 08:43:00 PM
I went to my public honey hole scouting this week. Season is in but I was walking much to fast to sneak up on something. I plan on a few days off in a few weeks and i plan on a dozen or so hot spots to sit on then.lol . I`m scouting for deer  i hav`nt got the first one of the year yet but I`m after`m.I saw tons of fresh porker sign and some good water oaks dropping and a few promising swamp chestnut trees. Here are a few pics.. First some smoking hog sign, saw tons of this..

To give you an idea of how things can change here is an older pic of that sign taken during the spring a few years ago..

Finally came back on the access trail to catch about 15 of these fellas crossing...

Robert, I plan to view those spots in person with you in a few weeks - they look very familiar!  I still haven't spilled any blood with Keith's HH longbow yet..........

RC, great pic. of the World record bass sign. My father was born on June 2nd 1932 the day that fish was caught.

He was a avid bass fisherman his whole life and always said He would catch the next world record. Unfortunatly He passed away way to early to accomplish it.

Thanks for jogging My memory this morning!!

I fished Montgomery Lake and hunted Horse Creek WMA years ago in the early 80s when my friend was the Area Manager. I remember once I was there and you couldn't tell where the river(Ocmulgee?) stopped and the woods began.    Pat

Great pics.. That hogs sign looks like the ground was tilled up by a tractor.
