Steve...where at? Greg's?
-
Hi Tim,
No T-shirts in the works yet, but if there is enough interest we may do it. You are on the list if we do.
Bob,
Yep, Greg's.
Jim just changed the address for his GORH web site so I changed the first post.
-
If you can make it, go to Jim's web site and sign the "guest book" on the first page.
-
YEEHAA!!
-
where is going to be located, and can i bring a 9 y/o bow shootin boy with me.
-
flightmedic,
You and your son would be welcome.
Anyone who want's to come, make sure you see the above web site and sign up. Also we will need people to bring either a entree or a side dish for the potluck dinner.
-
all pertinant information is availible by clicking on link in the first post. for those of you that are GORH newbies, take the time to click on the link to all the GORH '99 stuff. GORH survivors, this a most pleasant stroll down memory lane. some good pics, hilarious commentary, and the history of how this all got started in 1939 and resurected in 1999. 2009 marks the 70th anniversary of this epoch event.

Maybe....going to just be getting back from a pig/javy hunt then....may not be able to get a note for another outing that soon. :readit: :goldtooth:

Updated the site a little tonight.
We want this GORH to return to the glory days. GORH has kinda fallen to the wayside and the last couple have been thrown together at the last minute. The next one in 2011 will get bigger and better. I'll make sure of it. What I would like to do is have some kinda auction that will raise some money to pay up front for some things needed to pull one of these off. It is almost like a shoot with rabbit huntin to boot. I'd like to see a few vendors at 2001. No reason why this thing cant. So, if anyone has something they would like to donate for an auction, let me know. I know in this day and age money is tight and the things we hold dear become more valuable so if something is donated I'll make sure it gets what its worth. There is allot of time till 2011 but thats where its going.

If im not going to texas i would love to come.Sounds like a great hunt.
-
I'm going to talk to Raven when he gets back this week end and try to make plans to go.We were talking about going to Shawns bunny stomp in NY but 30 miles versus 400 sounds alot better.
-
Bob I hope you can make it. I'll see if Emma can do some baking before hand :bigsmyl:
-
4runner I didn't even think about that.I did think about shooting home at night and back the next morning to replenish the food supplies. I bet my wife will make some venison pot pies and venison meat balls in mushroom gravy (goes good over mashed potatoes or noodles)for us since I wouldn"t be going to NY for valentines day.

If you boys dont come to GORH I'm comin to your house for dinner!

Terry, Georgia isn't that far away. I'll even pick you up at the border. You might have to leave your sheep at home though. We know how you southern folk are!hahahahahahahahahhahahahahhaha

Well fellows we WERE coming but not anymore. We usually go south on a fishing trip this time of year but cancelled. Well we just recently decided to go now and are going to Lake Falcon in Texas. We leave on the 20th. Sorry we're going to miss this great outing. Post some good photos and we'll plan on being there next year.
BTW- I'm still ordering a shirt, they are way to cool!
hetdeerman- My partner wears a 3x shirt but didn't see that size listed. Is it available?

I'm just seeing this. It just occured to me this was the year so I checked. I'm planning on comming. I missed the last one because it was right after the ice storm and we had newborn twins in the house. But I'm planning on this one. I had a great time last time I got to come.
I can't wait. I need to make up some arrows. :)

Is it appropriate to bring kids to this event?
-
Hi Kenny,
I've never seen kids there, but I would sure think they are welcome. Heck, bring them along, they will have fun.
Steve
-
Thanks Steve,
I'm planning on bringing Adam and if Roman comes, he'll have to bring a couple of his boys.
They'll out shoot all of us.
-
Sounds great Kenny! I got an email from Tony Philips and he said he has brought his kids and they had a great time.
Hope Roman and his gang can make it also! Lots of space for them to run around and shoot.
-
4Runr,
Good group of semi-civilized :knothead: fellas. No worries.
-
You sure you all wouldn't want to just change the dates to say maybe, next weekend? :p
Doesn't hurt a fellow to ask. It never fails, I always plan a trip when something at home is going on. Oh well, me and longbowben will just have to wait until next year. But we're gonna reap havoc on those javies in Texas in 10 days! :bigsmyl: Good luck.
-
Leatherneck,
We do it on the odd years every other year so the next one will be in February 2011.
-
Howdy, fellers. Had a real productive work party yesterday to nail down some of the details on this GORH. If you're sitting on the fence trying to decide on going, get off the fence and GO. Heydeerman's really put the effort into making this one of the best yet. Lot's of good giveaways, lots of good eats, one of the greatest and most unique traditional events going. It's gonna be great fun. Bad weather has never kept us down. WABBITS BE TOAST.
-
Can't wait!!!! :bigsmyl:
Oldschool went on Sat. to help out and told me he had a blast and said it's going to be a great time! First time for both of us. We have been out a few time rabbit hunting trying to get our shooting skill honed in. Oldschool has shot one or two rabbits and I still have not scored on one.

Fun it will be!
I just talked to the company making the shirts. They mailed them Friday so they should be here today or tomorrow! We are about ready to roll!
-
Can't wait for a shirt. I bought two so I could have everyone that shows up sign it!! :readit:  :archer: Also plan on having everyone sign one of my unfinished arrows then I will bring it home to seal it a few time and fletch it and put it up on the wall, thought it would make a good keepsake. :)
Plan on smoking a deer hind the night before we come down. Sounds like some good eats will be on hand.
Raven >>>>-------->
-
I'll be going up Sat. AM for the day. Anyone local to the Lancaster area is welcome to ride up with me.
-
"Can't wait for a shirt. I bought two so I could have everyone that shows up sign it!!"
Hmmm, that's a new idea....and not a bad one either. We could really run with that one.
-
Still waiting to find out what my Friday evening and Sunday afternoon plans are for my son, but one way or the other, I'll be there on Saturday for sure.
-
Longbeard, Hope you can make it man. Looking forward to seein you.

hey goose i've only been a member here less than a year, and just read of the hunt. i live a little over an hour and a half west of jackson, close to cincinnati. i would love to come. i love shooting anything that runs, jumps, skips, or hops with my blackwidow. are carbon arrows excepted? i can't really afford wood, especially knowing how many i may lose.ha! if there is anyone coming through here and would like a ride, i plan on driving home each night. they can stay with us also. there are only 9 of us, we'll make room. just joking there will only be me and my wife, our children will be at there other parents that weekend. i think i'm looking forward to it, shoot it was 9 degrees here just last night. maybe it will be a flip-flop from last year, cold in december, and nice in feburary but i wouldn't hold my breath, my lungs may freeze. can't wait. oh by the way i have a part beagle part jackrussle that loves to run rabbits 24-7. can i bring her? if she can't keep up with the big dogs can she sleep with you so i don't have to bring her back sat. night? ha! just joking. she has never been in that situation so i don't know if she will hunt with other dogs. sounds like a good place to learn. stump shooting sounds good to me, they don't move or jump the string. see you guys soon. please let me know about the carbon arrows. put me in for the shirt, thanks! :campfire:
-
John. Stumps do move & jump the string! :jumper: My dogs don,t do well with others but there is plenty of room for all
