What is the quietest recurve you never heard. The rain has me stuck in the house by the way.
-
the whisperstiks ive shot have all been quieter than anything else. Those have been Bears and Black Widows.
-
That's a easy one......RER
-
Yup,
Rivers Edge Recurves is the way to go.
-
You have one coming to you Wally.
-
My Shrew Scout is pretty quiet, the quietest recurve I have shot anyway.
-
Whisperstik Mojostik... very quiet
-
A Arawak to "Phoebus archerie" a french bowmaker.
It's a fifties design recurve, rather swift but very quiet. No doubt, to discover for an American bowhunter !
-
Yep, the Whisperstik Mojostik is the quietest recurve I've shot.

Great Northern Ghost.

I have heard all along that Widows are noisy, but I just purchased my first one(PSAII) and I must disagree. This Widow, at least, is as quiet as any recurve I have owned or shot.
I think proper tuning will dictate noise level for the most part.
-
pseman, for some reason, the psa series seems quieter than the older sa's and ma's but my psaII is very quiet.
-
Another vote for a GN Ghost.

I guess you forgot how quiet my Marriah Thermal was (without much in the way of silencers by the way)when we were shooting on Sunday... :D
-
I agree... my Marriah Thermal is super freaky quiet and ridiculously fast for a 50 pounder or so. My buddy calls it a freak of nature.

I've shot a lot of bows since the mid fifties and none is as quiet as the two DAS Master Hunters my wife and I own.
I also have a Rocky Miller Predator 3 piece take down that is about as quiet a bow as I owned prior to the DAS bows,
-
I remember Beach, I just have New Bow on the brain..........
-
well MY silvertip is so quiet I usually don't know I shot it until I see the target tip over. ;) Of course it could have something to do with the mass weight and bow hush... :readit: :D
-
Dave and Mark,
I've also heard a lot of people put down BW's because they are noisy. I have a PSA11 and just sold a PGA. Both these bows are quiet and all I really hear is the thud when the arrow hits the target. I'm using the spider silencers per BW instructions.

Thanks Guys.

I have a Morrison Cheyenne and that is one quiet bow.

My Horne Combo Hunter Recurve is about the quietest bow i have NOT heard.
Keeping control of brace height, and some wool in the right places on the string. It is simply silent, and it smokes an arrow too.
The difference in sound w brace height is amazing btw.

Robertson Peregrine,Mahaska, Winterwind, Kohannah Kurve, and this little Widow SBS I'm checking out for a friend is pretty darn quiet.
-
Surprising as this may sound, because I've heard many complaints of them being noisy, but my Hoyt Gamemaster (courtesy of Deadsmple) is the quietest recurve I've ever shot and I own about thirty. It does have limb pads and yarn puffs and I shoot about 10gr./lb. off the shelf.
-
Zippers, although my extreme is quiter than my standard riser.

My Thunderstick Ramhorn is the quietest recurve I've ever shot. That said, I want a Mojostik some day.
-
My Groves and Kempf Stealth are the quietest bows I have owned. I have to agree with Carlsen, when I had a Rocky Miller Predator back in the early 90's, it was a very quiet bow to shoot.
-
An old Bear recurve I had many moons ago. I think it was of the late fifties era.
-
Assenheimer
-
Assenheimer gets the nod. I've shot lots of bows but none as quiet.
-
bow hush along with proper tuning can make any recurve very quiet
-
either bear kodiak w/dacron string or my stemmler cougar
-
My Hummingbird Alpha Male is super quiet.
-
Quietest recurve I ever shot was a 1960 Bear Grizzly. Dead quiet with no silencers. All of my modern recurves are quiet once I get them tuned and the Hush Puppies in the correct place, but that bow was mouse quiet right out of the box.
