Title: ************ 2010 NEWBIE HELP ************
Post by: IB on January 02, 2009, 02:24:00 PM
Sorry LIFERS but we gots a bunch of NEWBIES who need to see this. As well as some SLACKERS who need "The REVIEW"         :goldtooth:

  ***********PLEASE READ TO THE END*****************

Click here for  Basic guidelines for traditional bowhunting (http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=082053) .

  Off topic threads  can be one of a kind, or fit into a category. Here's a list of categories that are off topic for Trad Gang that have been problematic for a few months now.....

E-B-A-Y/Auction sites/Sales alerts from non Trad Companies.

No target/olympic/field archery topics cept 3-D

Solicitations/Raffles/Auctions.

Religious posts.

No non bowhunting related pics.

No links to other message boards.

No canned hunt topics period.

Personal Contact threads.(use search feature and email)

Scam alerts.

Throwing Hawks/Throwing knives, non hunting knives

Bloggs/Myspace/YouTube non-bowhunting.

Non Bowhunting TV/Movie threads.

Non Trad Bowhunting equipment (compounds, crossbows, mech heads, lazer sites, guns, etc...or even pics)

No  NON Bowfishing threads.

No pics of road kills, or any other weapon kills, or any type of kills that are not done so with trad bows.

No animals killing animals clips, or any other non hunting clips.

Again, those categories above are off topic, and will always be off topic unless we approve a specific thread for a needy reason. Please help us help you by keeping the site on topic...Trad Bowhunting.

Also, please don't post pics wider than 640 pixels.

Trad Gang is a special place, and to keep it a special place it takes work from everyone, including the members. Try and understand that when your post is pulled, it is NOT personal, we are only trying to be consistent and fair as we can for the site's sake. No need to get bent out of shape, no need to go bizerk or explode.

Think you are alone?....Think we play favorites?..here's a few folks that have had their posts edited or pulled....

Ron LaClair, Dean Torges, Gene Wensel, Barry Wensel, Biggie Hoffman, Charlie Lamb, Curtis Kellar, and Don Thomas just to name a few....So, if you've had a post removed or edited, your in good company.

And please if you join to use the classifieds, read the classifieds rules. Been a lot of firearm/compound/etc trade offers on the board and they aren't allowed. Trad bows/equipment only folks. Also if you make it to sell it, you need to be a sponsor to list it here.

Suggestion...with all the Newcomers or Newbies..

Why don't they have their own "newbie forum" where all their questions can be answered by the experienced bowhunters. This will free up the Pow Wow forum because you do see quite a few repetitious questions on a daily basis. Just my opinion.....

Because we are supposed to help each other be better trad hunters and the pow wow is where everyone hangs out.  How hard is it to say use the search feature anyway.  I kind of enjoy helping out with what little knowledge I have.

I do wish you would allow pictures with kids first kill regardless of weapon. We parents are proud people, and love sharing. And by kids I mean to young to drive.

There is a post just above this thread that explains what to do....However I'll copy and paste the contents, less the photos here, to help you out...........

If you wish to have a custom avatar added to your profile so that it will show on all of your posts, please submit A PROPERLY SIZED IMAGE along with YOUR TRAD GANG MEMBER NUMBER to [email protected]

PLEASE NOTE: you must have already sized your custom avatar to no larger than 100x100 - WE SIMPLY CAN NO LONGER PERFORM ANY CUSTOM AVATAR IMAGE EDITING.

If you submit an image larger than 100x100 it will NOT be added to your profile.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESIZING IMAGES FOR AVATARS
First, choose an image that will look good when resized small - this is important! Use any image editor you like - Windows has one already built it, find it in your Accessories folder.
Now use your image editor to crop it out so that it's relatively square in size, and the main subject is as large as possible ...
Resize the image no larger than 100x100,
Sharpen the focus ...
We're good to go!
Now email the image along with yer Trad Gang member number to [email protected] - that's all she wrote!
