HI
I have used for many years the old Zebco 808 without problem. Now I would like to buy onother one reel for reserve in my bag and I like (only from pictures)the new Muzzy reel but I have some doubts if this is better than the Zebco or not. Have you more information about it?
Thanking in advance

By the looks of it, I would say it is most likely manufactured by Zebco, with Muzzy's label on it.
You say you have had no problems for many years, I say,....if its not broken, don't fix it.

I can assure you it is not made by Zebco! I worked with a private label reel manufacturer on building this reel up for 3 years and it is designed for bowfishing, not just another big spincast reel. Extra large SS and Brass gearing with increased gear mesh, dual ball bearing spool shaft support, oversized roller pick up pin designed for Spectra lines, automotive type disc drag system, best in the reel world, dual anti-reverse system, convertible handle retrieve, large line capacity-100ft of 200# FF and 165ft of 150# Spectra line. Definitely a great reel and well built! Mark

New Zebco's have been junk for awhile. I got sick of them and now use the retriever reel. If I switch back it will be to a Muzzy.

I bowfish alot, I have tried the 808, 888, muzzy original reel, now the rebuilt one. For the money to me I have less problem and more dependable on Shakespeare reels.

My brother has one of the muzzy reels and it is definitely built better than mine when I get another it will be a muzzy

I've stripped gears on several 808's and 888's.
If you have to pull the line with your hand, then quickly reel up the slack, the reel isn't doing it's job. The muzzy reel has the guts to reel in most everything but the biggest gatorgar without slipping and the drag is smoooooooooooooooooooth!
Well worth the $$$
