Title: Internal Footing Carbon Shafts

Any new insights on how to effectively install internal footing into carbon shafts in order to minimize structural damage to arrow on hard hits?

I - like others, I'm sure - have been anxiously waiting for Dr. Ashby's update.  Was wondering if others were experimenting in the mean time.  

I recently switched over to carbon shafts and have been holding off on tuning until there's some prospect of an effective internal foot to begin tuning with.
