Title: First time.........
Post by: Featherbuster on January 31, 2009, 10:47:00 AM
This is the first time in 17 years that i have not taken a deer with my bow and more importantly,  I did not get a chance to hunt with my Dad (who got me into traditional) or my two brothers.  I guide duck hunts for my company in Stuttgart, AR during the duck season and in the past i have been able to slip away, but this was different.  We stayed booked up the whole year and I hunted customers 51 days out of a 60 day season.  Some of my friends are jealous that i get to hunt so much, but this is completely the opposite.  Dont get me wrong i enjoy a group of mallards coming into the timber as much as the next guy but it gets old after a while.  When you take into account that this also takes time away from my personal hunting time and time i could be spending with my family, it hurts!!!!
The upside, I keep my bows with me at camp and have introduced others to the sport of traditional archery.

Sorry for the soap box.

Hey Featherbuster! Feel free to come here to vent anytime. I feel your pain. We have to find a way to fuel our passion someway and having your bows in camp and showing others the joy may be enough to keep ya sane, not necessarily happy though.

I'm going to be working ALOT and for how long, I don't know. I'm trying to prepare my family for what I may become. I'm praying I will keep a sense of humor.
