Well, today's the day. I report to the hospital at noon, and my shoulder surgery is scheduled for 2:00 this afternoon. I've got to spend the night in the hospital, so I won't be back on here until Thursday evening. The doctor says that I have a large tear in my rotator cuff, and it will involve an open incision surgery. I'll be in a sling for about 12 weeks or so, and will undergo therapy for 6 months. I should be ready for bow season next Fall. See you guys when I get out on Thursday.

Hospitals scare me, no matter how minor the procedure. My prayers are for your surgeons to have skilled and steady hands, your nurses and therapists to have kindness while doing what is necessary for your complete healing.
Be brave, be strong, be sure to let us know how it went.
Oh, and clean. Clean hands, too. Sorry. :D :p

Had that with the catapillar open cut... :)
I keep tellin folks that it's critical to learn where the difference between "pain" and "doing damage to the repairs" lie!
Once you get the docs to make sure you KNOW that line...the more you put into rehab, the quicker you will be back at it!
Don't do anything more than you're supposed to and do whatever you're allowed as much as you can take!
