Title: how often do you shoot

i get out about twice a week
shoot about 60 arrows at a time
would like to be more consistent on my shots
weather has been bad here in michigan too

Post by: snag on March 28, 2009, 05:19:00 PM: I like to get ready for work, walk out on the deck, with the morning still and quiet...shoot anywhere from 12 to 24 arrows. Just depends on how it is going. If I am shooting well I shoot more. If not, I shoot less and concentrate on one thing to try and improve.

Post by: Irish on March 28, 2009, 06:41:00 PM: Almost every day. Not a lot of arrows, I try to work on form. I try not to fling arrows just to fling arrows (even though I love to shoot). Everytime I shoot, I try to work on something. Back tension, steady bow arm, etc.

Post by: broketooth on March 28, 2009, 06:43:00 PM: well for me work has been slack so i get out there every day and shoot most of the afternoone. i can tell a big difference in my shooting especially with the recurve i own. i miss shooting my longbow its got a crack in the bottom limb ( selfbow) but yes my shooting has improved alot

Had some health issues with my mom, then along came the ice storm and I been using my time cleaning up from it(I live in a woods) and now I been fletching some arrows lately and finally starting to get back to shootin' about twice a week since I been laid off.

I'd like to set a goal to shoot at least every other day.

I miss shooting everyday, it is the way I keep my head in order, but 2 or 3 times a week is better than nothing at all. Mike

Anywhere from 50 to 300 arrows per session. I know that 300 is way too many, but it is sometimes hard to stop. When I am shooting heavy bows I shoot a lot fewer arrows, but my lighter bows don't tire me much and I can shoot for a long time without my form suffering too much. I try to stop when my form begins to break down. I should be shooting fewer arrows and working more on my form like Mel Riley (Irish) does!

So I am happy when I can shoot 3 times a week 120-150 arrows. But mostly it is just 2 times a week.
