Is anyone aware of an online-seller/source for Vario feather choppers? Ideally I'd like to just order one online w/ a CC.

Got mine from Herb's Archery, good service!

Get ahold of Dennis at Git-R-Done archery in Calgary. He is fast shipping and very reasonably priced too. I just bought my new bow and goodies from him and could not be happier.
And if you are located in the U.S. you have great buying power against the canuck buck right now.

I think Herb and Dennis will be the only place you can get them in North America. Don't quote me......but I think that's true!
I use a Vario Clipper alot(average about 100-120 feathers a week). They do a great job! The biggest problem with them is availability. Although it's not Herb's or Dennis' fault, sometimes either the manufacturer is slow getting the clippers to them or they're slow getting through customs.
Once you have the initial investment in the clipper housing, the inserts are reasonable and last about twice as long as the Lil' Chopper. And in my opinion do a better job!
I think you'll find Dennis will carry mostly RW clippers, while Herb will carry equal amounts of both. I can't say enough how good of people both of them are!!

Herb and Dennis are the only two places to get them that I know. The only problem that I have had is availability. Been tring to get some for a couple of years now. They are waiting on Vario to ship to them. dino

The last I heard was that they quit making them. Whether or not that is true I do not know. Flint

Certain inserts can be hard to get a hold of sometimes. But they are still available. I have a Vario and a couple different inserts. Currently waiting for a hunter cut(bananna) to become available....

Dennis and Herb don't know if Vario is still in business. However, Herb said he plans to make inserts himself, as there is no patent on them. I sent him an email with a couple of sizes I would like to get. I ordered a base from Dennis, who also doesn't have very many inserts on hand. I would encourage you to email Herb with the sizes you want. If he gets enough emails, maybe he will start making them.

The website is still up, not sure if they are still in business. I have 8 of the inserts, I got mine from Herb a few years ago.

If you are going to get one at all Dennis is your best bet. I just got his last RW Orca cut about a month ago. Best feather cutter I have ever used.
